The Arizona Cardinals showed some fight on Sunday, but not enough in a 32-20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. At least not enough for Bruce Arians.

The Cardinals coach bristled at the notion that losing a tight game to a division heavy might be seen -- to borrow the words of Jerry Jones -- as a moral victory.

"No. We only play to win. I don't give a damn about playing close," Arians told reporters after the game. "We're here to win, we had the game in our hand. That's what we take from it. If we quit beating ourselves, we can beat anybody."

The Cardinals committed four turnovers and allowed 49ers tight end Vernon Davis to dance all over the field to the tune of 180 yards on eight catches.

Glad this clown is gone. I fully expect a Dennis Green/Jim Mora type press conference meltdown by season's end. I can't wait!

Oh my god! Be it Mike Wallace or Bruce Arians, or Mendenhall & Jeff Reed. Forum posters always post these kinds of threads in the wrong forum. Leave it to Buddha Bus to break the cycle. Thank ya, model poster.

Shouldn't arians offense be leading the league instead of the bottom 5?

Oh that's right... an arians led offense couldn't crack the top 20 if his life depends on it.

Oh crap! I actually meant to post this in the arcade discussion forum since Arians runs his offenses like he's playing Madden!

Feel free to move this thread, Bagz. :chuckle:

Wow. Now it's pretty obvious why so many teams were interested in hiring this guy as a head coach.

Here he is with such a leg up on the rest of the league with the novel idea of 'only playing to win'.

Brilliant, this guy.

How come nobody else has ever thought of this?

Arians has trademarked a few other gems:

"The team with the most points, usually wins."

"The team with the most victories in the play-offs, usually wins the championship."

"Touchdowns are worth more points than FGs."

"Third & 1 is prime time time for five wide!!!"

"WR screens cure all woes."

It is like Yogi-isms... only stupid.
