straw man - The arguer makes up a proposition never offered by her opponent (usually weaker than the true proposition) and then attacks it as if his opponent had offered that proposition. This is most common on Internet chat sites.

It's a type of logical fallacy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_fallacy

An example of such an argument could be:

Person A: I don't think children should run into the busy streets.
Person B: I think that it would be foolish to lock up children all day with no fresh air.

By insinuating that Person A's argument is far more draconian than it is, Person B has side-stepped the issue.

In that case I pick Willie Parker for Mvp, or Big Ben, or Troy, or Hines Ward....Just goofing around. I actually think it will be Parker.

Then the obvious answer would have been to "sidestep" the post.. as opposed to making a rational comparison to a post made in jest...:dang:

I'm going to go with Ben.

That'd be nice (Santonio), but I don't see him making enough of an impact til later this season.

I am going to go with Ben or Casey. If Ben is able to do what he wants and utilizes his Wr"s and TE more ..he is a shoo-in...I look for Casey to be his usual disruptive bad self

Big Ben and Troy P.....the obvious players stand out this year...

Troy, Ben and Hines do it for me. Ben less so only because I think his consistency needs another year of experience to ripen.
