Dennard seems to be the consensus #1 CB, and with reported drop offs in later rounds, this draft garners 2 potential starters in the backfield; use Lynch as a slot receiver in year one, is a better receiver that seems to be the perception. Bullough seems to have the traits to replace Farrior, and could assist in the pass rush (dependent on issues that had him miss the Rose Bowl), picks 5-7 address needs.

Look hard for UDFA receiver and running back.
Concerned with Nix at #1, not sure of CB quality if go WR or TE higher.

1. Darqueze Dennard, 5’11’ 197 CB Michigan State
Justin Gilbert 6’ 200 CB Oklahoma State
2. Calvin Pryor, 6’2’’ 208 FS, Louisville
Deone Bucannon, 6’1’’ 215 SS Washington State,
3. Arthur Lynch, 6’5’’ 254 TE Georgia
4. Max Bullough, 6’3’’ 245, ILB Michigan State
5. Ryan Carrethers 6’1’’ 330 DT, Arkansas State
6. Devon Kennard, 6’3’’ 255 OLB USC
7. De’Anthony Thomas, 5’9’’ 178 RB Oregon

Potential UDFA:
Justin Ellis, 6-2, 357, 5.34 Louisiana Tech
Beau Allen 6’3’’ 325 Wisconsin
Curtis Porter 6’1’’ 325 Miami
Chris Davenport 6’3’’ 330 Tulane

nothing to complain about, looks like a pretty sweet draft! I'm not sure when the players are expected to be drafted, but I would have thought Carrethers and Thomas would be gone by the time you've picked them.

For now, I just used the rankings that CBS Draft Site is projecting.

can't argue with that then.

I'm not familiar with that GA TE. Do you think we'll re-sign Sanders or Cotchery, instead of drafting a WR?

Ryan Carrethers IMO is a player the FO will look at in the later rds(4-5). Kinda reminds me of how in the 2011 draft when we was all screaming for a CB in the first but we waited until the 3rd(Curtis shouldn't count lol) & 4th rd(Cortez) to take one the same will happen with the NT position IMO(gotta wait to see if the FO shows interest in Nix).

But back on topic, good defensive mock but not sure we take a Corner in the 1st.

GA TE looks to me like a faster Heath, TE from Iowa projected higher. This would eliminate need to draft a big WR since we have so many needs; always been a Cotchery fan, likely re-signs. Would like to see a #1 TE or WR, but defense seems to be calling! Also would like a 4th round RB, but find one later, defense is calling!

I watched the 49ers draft over the years, each pick I would say, "darn-wish the Steelers had this guy!. Same as the Cowboy draft the year of the Herschel Walker trade, my heart sunk as they picked top players that would have made great Steelers.
