The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired right wing Lee Stempniak from the Calgary Flames for a 2014 third-round draft pick, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.

Stempniak, 31, has played the past three seasons for the Calgary Flames, including this season when he has recorded 23 points (8G-15A) in 52 contests.

The 5-foot-11, 196-pound Stempniak has reached double digits in goals seven times, including a career-high 28 in 2009-10 with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Phoenix Coyotes.

A native of West Seneca, New York, Stempniak has skated in 616 career NHL regular-season games with St. Louis, Toronto, Phoenix and Calgary, totaling 146 goals, 184 assists and 330 points. He has added two assists in 11 postseason games.

Stempniak, who was originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the fifth round (148thoverall) of the 2013 NHL Draft, spent four years of college hockey at Dartmouth from 2001-05, where he was teammates with Tanner Glass.
