Dream mock but be realistic. Drafting Clowney and Watkins in rounds 1 & 2 isn't realistic :chuckle:

Trade back a few spots in the 2nd rd to pick up an extra 4th and 6th

1. Darqueze Dennard, CB, MSU
2. Stephon Tuitt, DE, Notre Dame
3. Martavis Bryant, WR, Clemson
4. Shyne Skov, ILB, Stanford
4. Louchiez Purifoy, CB, Florida
5. Shaquil Barrett, OLB, Colorado State
5. Dri Archer, RB, Kent State or De'Anthony Thomas, RB, Oregon
6. Ryan Carrethers, NT, Arkansas State
6. Michael Schofield, OT, Michigan
6. John Brown, WR, Pittsburg State
7. Shaquille Richardson, CB, Arizona or Trey Millard, FB, Oklahoma

*Trade our 5 and 6 to move back up into the 4th round (pick used on Aaron Colvin)

1. WR Mike Evans Texas A&M
2. OLB Kyle Van Noy BYU
3. CB Bashaud Breeland Clemson
4. ILB Telvin Smith
4. CB Aaron Colvin Oklahoma
5. TE Colt Lyerla Oregon
6. DE Shemar Stephen UConn
7. WR John Brown Pitt State

Replenish WR depth & give Ben his huge target in Evans + quick skilled guy late who can handle punt/kick return game in John Brown. BPA on both Van Noy & Breeland if they slip. Developmental DE in Shemar Stephen, huge upside CB in Colvin, a speedy versatile LB in Smith then a huge roll of the dice on Lyerla. He could be a monster.

1. Mike Evans and if he's not available Darqueze Dennard.

That's all I'm gonna say. If he's available I just don't think we should let Evans slip by. Can't let those stinking Ratbrids have a shot at a playmaker that could make Flacco look good again like Boldin did.

I agree. Though Its not just about playing keep away from the Rats , its about winning now. Since I'm lazy here's my post from another thread :

I'd love Evans or Kelvin but it seems like such a deep class that it makes the most sense to go Dennard or Gilbert in round 1 and come back with matthews/robinson round 2

I can see that theory. I just wonder if the Steelers aren't on a win now splurge.

This is the most active they've been in free agency that I can remember in a long time. If the win now philosophy is in full effect , They know contributions of a redzone mismatch will pay win now dividends while an early defensive pick will be a minor contributor first year.

Let's not forget the cornerback class is very deep as well . ( Cockrell , Gaines x2, Breeland , richardson , mcgill , baptiste , etc , etc. )

If this is a line of thinking that they have , they could potentially Go Wr early , load up on D with maybe a multi purpose back and Te sprinkled in.

I could see 6 def picks and 3 offense.
Perhaps 5 to 4 if a swing lineman catches their eye.

^^^ I think this draft has such good talent spread around that the picks will be pretty even like you've said. I'd only go WR early for Evans. If he's gone and the top corners are as well then the BPA would likely be Barr, Donald, Ebron, Lewan. Tough choices there.
