Which would you prefer at 15?

I put the premium at pass rusher and would personally rather Barr at 15 and Roby in the second round. Thoughts?

We won't take a LB in the first. I stake my non-existent draft rep on it.

If the Steelers had not failed in recent past drafts and solidified the team better they could afford a luxury pick like Barr. Having just drafted Jarvis Jones and hoping to sign Worilds it would be unlikely they would take Barr at this time simply because they can't afford too. If they were strong at WR and CB and DL that is when you can afford to take the Best Player available even when you have 2 starters ahead of him. One being a recent first round pick the other making 9 million this season.

So CB is a huge need on this team. The sooner they can get someone learning the defense the better they will be by next year when Ike Taylor is very well gone or not starting anymore. Cortez Allen is also not a bonafide starter yet in my eyes as well. Fuller, Gilbert, or Dennard would all make excellent picks. Fuller 1st, EJ Gaines 3-4th, Shaquille Richardson 6th, would all make sense.

I also see it as biggest need trumps BPA in the scenario presented. I think the pick has to be Fuller/CB here. Typically CBs do not play year 1 on our defense and Fuller probably won't either. Barr would be a special teamer and backup OLB at best year 1 also. So you have to look year 2. A guy who would most likely start at CB or the potential for quality depth at OLB. Downside is letting either of these guys slip by.

The number of quality OLBs that will be there in the 2nd is less of a risk than hoping to get a Roby or Verrett.

Fuller. Barr doesn't have the strength to set the edge for us. Love his athleticism and instincts but AJ McCarrons gf can bench 225 more than this guy

i doubt roby gets to us in 2. but i could see

1) barr
2) desir if we want to go corner here

i prefer a trade down though especially if barr is there

It would be a hard choice to make, that's for sure. Barr's upside though, is hard to pass on. Long term, who's going to make the biggest impact and be the better prospect? If Barr turns out to be what people think he will, you can never have enough good pass rushers, especially if we cannot keep Worilds past this season. Can you get a good corner in the 2nd and 3rd round? From what I see, it's a deep class at corner, so yes you can. Are you going to be able to get a guy like Barr, who's explosive coming off the edge, has room to grow still and could potentially be a pro bowler within 2-3 years? I would lean to Barr at this point being the better pick. Remember also, you are getting top 5-10 talent at the 15 spot with Barr.

My non-existent draft rep was as right as always.

Hawaii 5-0 you're suppose to wait a few years before bringing this out!
