View Full Version : The Winning Streak Busters

i never thought about this much until they showed it on sportscenter but in the last 2 years and 1 game the steelers have ended 6 teams winning streaks of 6 or more games.
pats - 21
eagles- 8 (or 9)
bills - 6
fins - 6
thats pretty impressive and shows you cant expect to carry any momentum into pittsburgh (even though we ended the bills and viks streaks on their turf.)

The most impressive thing to ending those streaks was beating the Pats and Eagles back
to back with a rookie QB.

Another little interesting stat to throw out there..........
Under Coach Cowher the Steelers are now 101-1-1 when they have a lead of 11 or more points.

Aside from the Pats and the Eagles the rest of them:
bills - 6 ..........six wins against teams with losing records if memory serves me right
bears -6..........NFC North teams are pretty much pathetic
vikings -6........*See above^
fins - 6............This is one of the reasons everyone has been pimping the Dolphins this season but I believe 4 of those teams had losing records, they did beat an uninspired San Diego team and a Pats team that didn't play most of their starters for the game because they had clinched a playoff berth...............this was also the Doug Flutie drop-kick game.

seems like that is what happens to the Dolphins every year .. start slow .. then finsih strong, but they fail to mention exactly who they finish strong against and what the circustances were. I dont read much into it and i am one of the ones that dont have Miami in the playoffs nor do i see them unseating N.E anytime soon in that division.
