Former Steelers cornerback and special-teams ace Chidi Iwuoma worked out for the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday.

This is bad news, IMO... After the Miami game, I don't think the running game is nearly as big of a concern as special teams are. Iwuoma was sorely missed from the coverage teams.

I hope with Ben and Tuman getting healthy, the Steelers can make room on the roster for Chidi to come back. That would also depend, however, on Chidi wanting to come back after being released.

The browns brought Chidi in to pump him for information.

I share your sentiments, Bozman. I was sick when they released Chidi - we need him on STs and I think that has to be obvious to Cowher and the coaches after last week's ST play (or lack thereof). Crossing fingers (and toes) that we can get him back.

If our special teams turns it around this week on covering kick offs... then he wil be forgotten ...... I guess with the injuries we have and having to keep some other people on board that may be on practice spuad... a special teams guy had to go. Hope whoever is going to replace him will step it up.

The Chiefs have lost their starting QB; the Patriots have lost their best WR and former super Bowl MVP becuase of a contract dispute; and the pre-season favorite Panthers have an o-line that is in total disarray, because their starting left tackle is out for the year, while their middle linebacker was taken out with yet another concussion. I assume fans of those teams would trade their problems for, at least temporarily, losing a special teams player.

I hope by December that the biggest worry the Steelers have continues to be the absence of Chidi.

I could not pick Chidi out of a police line-up and I bet few on this board (as informed a group of Steelers fans as you are liklely to find anywhere) could do so.

My point is that the Steelers are better with Chidi than without him but that in the general scheme of things his absence is pretty much a non-issue.

 When did we cut him? I've been in an infomation black hole on and off since the Miami game. Did they try to sweep him under the carpet only to resign him?

He did ok on special teams, but i didnt like him on D in coverage. I cant say i am very upset over it. but if i had the choice between him and Morey... i would have kept him instead. Hope he lands with another team and does well...

I only dislike the ones that leave because of being greedy and am more than happy when they dont do well elsewhere... I guess that gives me a sick perverted selfishness mentality but is true.

nnoooooooooooooooo, our ST is not the problem, holmes had a little over 20average returning yards on the kickoff team. the punt returns by coclough is what ruined our team. i like coclough but he needs to leave the returns to the specialist like holmes and reid.

right before the phin game.they had to cut someone to make room for st. pierre. chidi was already out with a concussion...so he was the odd man out. i thought once ben was back they would drop pierre and resign chidi...guess i was wrong.
