Here is a pretty good article that was on NFL.com's front page. Good read by Pat Kirwan about depth around the NFL. He identifies Pittsburgh as one of the top eight teams in that department.

YOu beat me to it BB2W...I was just reading that. The top 8 are NE, Pitt, Minn, Philly, Jets, SD, Cinci, and Det.

Do you think the Steelers could go after one of the free agent to boost their rooster ?

not sure about boosting their rooster since they dont have a farm team! ok, bad joke.. anyhow, u might see the Steelers go after another FA this year yet, possibly at DL or OL just for depth purposes, but I doubt it.

They seem pretty content at this point w/ their roster. Having a depth was big concern for me this year coming up..we knew we had good depth last year, and we needed every player. U never know when any one of the 2nd or 3rd string is gonna be needed in crunch time.

Ty Law is still in question. Right now i see him being the only possibility.

I think that they only go after someone they could sign for cheap. And I dont think that will be Ty Law; someone will overpay for him.

Yep. Unless Law changes his tune on the whole mega contract I don't see him coming to Pittsburgh anymore. I'm not sure who else they would pick up, but it would probably be for cheap as you said Bill.

I agree...right now I just think Law is expecting too much. I can't even really believe the Steelers are even still on his list of possiblities. He just wants too much and hasnt proven that he will be the same threat after he is 100% and him saying he won't sign a one year deal...I would think he is out of the picture as far as the Steelers are concerned. I really don't know if they are looking at the other FAs but like you said...I don't see them offering anyone mega deals right now.

True. He is talking a lot right now. I keep reading in articles he is saying he is still going to be the best at his position, but he isn't healthy enough to prove that.

He's not even healthy enough to pass a decent physical and run plays in drills..

Thats exactly it. I understand confidence, but you can't even pass a physical how can he expect some huge deal right now.
