Well to top off a bad day Baltimore wins on a 52 yard FG, 15-12.

There is a long way to go but the margin for error now is pretty thin already.

That's OK. We're gonna sweep the ratbirds this year.

JAX and CINCY beat us last year. I'm still being optimistic... :wtf:

2 games down already in the division. It's a LONG season, I sure hope we dont wait too much longer to take it back......

We're 1-2... We face the Chargers next (@SD), then the Chiefs. I don't see why we can't be 3-2 by week 6. I'm not too worried that the Ravens and Bengles have gotten off to a fast start. Its going to be tough this year in the AFC North, yet I don't doubt the Steelers will make it into the playoffs.

If the Steelers stay healthy, I do not doubt that they can win the next 7 games. At the end of the seven games, we face the Ravens in B-more. I conseded at the beginning of the year that we would lose one non-divisonal game on the road, lose one to cincy and lose one to the ravens. That would leave us at 13-3. Now, Im hoping we got our loses out of the way early. Worst case, if we lose 4 this year, that should be enough to win the division. I just hope our recievers stop dropping passes and Big Ben stops making stupid mistakes.

The Ravens win with 5 Matt Stover Field Goals against Cleveland.

Stover hit the game winner with about 20 seconds left in the game.:shake01:

Baltimores wins:

Tampa Bay 0-3
Oakland 0-2
Cleveland 0-3

actually it's basically 3 games down with the tie breaker...

Locks for the playoffs already...

Ravens
Bengals
Colts
Patriots (no one in the east is going to beat them even if they aren't very good)
Jags (not real lock, but they already have the tie breaker on us, so not good)

That leaves one spot open realistically...

Steelers 1-2
Chargers 2-0
Broncos 2-1

fighting for that last spot... it is going to be a very tough road... I hope Ravens win the North if we don't... Those Bungal fans are annoying and ****y for a lifetime of sucking...

The last time Cinci beat us, we won 9 games in a row!!

That puts us at through Dec 3 against the Bucs and then clowns on Dec 7!!!

I'm optimistic looking at those 9 games that we can win them all. There's no body on that list that I think can over power us (i.e. the jags game) and I believe that these last two games should be and will be a wake up call for everyone in every aspect of the game!!

Good thing there is still plenty of football that needs to be played.

Listen even if the Ravens or Bungles are currently 3-0.

I can see having a harder time with the division as far as Baltimore goes. Cincy has some tough games ahead as well as the Ravens.

Ravens vs. bungles twice.

One of those teams has to lose and I have a feeling they will split the difference.

We play the Browns 2 X's
Bungles 1 more
Ravens one more

Ravens and Steelers have 4 of the same tough out of division opponents:

Denver, Atlanta, San Diego, and Carolina

Unfortunately, Steelers have 3 of those games on the road (San Diego/Falcons/Carolina) and 1 at home (Denver), which is the exact opposite of where Baltimore plays those games

I am not yet sold on Baltimore's offense but I believe the Steelers will need to beat them twice as part of the playoff puzzle.

It obviously is way too early to conclude the Steelers' chase is for the wild card at this point (Palmer will not last the season if his pass protection does not improve) but I would not look for any team to win 3 road playoff games again to get to the SB anytime soon.

Well, 11-5 means 10-3 the rest of the way. Of the remaining schedule, the bold italicized games are potential losses (I am being wildly optimistic and assuming the Steelers have lost their last home game for the year, which is a reach)

Sunday, Oct. 8 @ Chargers 8:15 pm (NBC)
Sunday, Oct. 15 CHIEFS 4:15 pm (CBS)
Sunday, Oct. 22 @ Falcons 1:00 pm (CBS)
Sunday, Oct. 29 @ Raiders 4:15 pm (CBS)

I love this thread. Its cracking me up. It doesn't matter who the Ravens have beaten. They have won all their games so far. Instead of wondering about if the Ravens are for real. Maybe we should wonder if our QB will ever get his head out of his ass and starting throwing to the right jerseys. With the way Ben is playing right....8-8 is a long shot right now. Not saying his terrible play will continue. But his terrible start should be cause for some concern.

y in the world r u predicting the Steelers will only lose away games.
they r better on the road than at home

a more realistic schedule is

this is a view tht puts them at 11-5 and is almost pessimistic

I am predicting only road losses because I believe the best teams they will be playing the rest of the way will be in road games. I know the Broncos won last night against a Patrioyts team with its own issues but I expect Carolina to reassert itself by December assuming Steve Smith gets healthy and every other road game I italicized is against a team that currently is undefeated.

IMHO I am far more comfortable predicting a win against the Broncos at home than a win against the Ravens, Chargers or Bengals on the road.

As far as the Steelers being a great road team, they did not show it last Monday night and, as they say in the stock fund prospectus, past results are no guarantee of future performance. It is early, but I have not seen a lot out of our starting QB and receivers so far that reminds me of the 2004 and 2005 teams except to the extent Ben appears to be channeling the departed spirit of Tommy Maddox.

Panthers.....They barely got by a Tampa team that had a QB damn near on life support!

I understand your frustration, BNGF32, but a 1-2 start is really no cause for panic or alarm with 13 games yet to be played. This team has turned it around before and barring key injuries, I have no reason to believe they can't turn it around again. Ben has been through a lot in a very short span of time - basically back to back medical emergencies with several surgeries involved. The bye week will do wonders for this team getting its head together, its mojo back and will make them even hungrier for a win in Chargers country. :tt02:
