Really didn`t want Ty, thought about it in the begining. But if you could cats, then you would know our feelings about him have changed. We believe we drafted our future last year and this year.

I am surprised to see that KC signed him. He said on TV last night that there was no chance of that.

I'd take him back for $750,000 plus incentives, if he were healthy, but I think he has a better chance of winning the Tour de France then he has of Belichick taking him back.

Watching him on PTI the other nite, 750,000 won`t come close. He set that he is not dropping his price. One thing I was bothered with is he kept refferring to his past saying" Everyone knows what I`m worth,, they`ve seen me play before. and My career should speak for itself." Yes he was great , is he still???? He is older. coming off a long injury. ???????????????????????????????//

It's all up in the air until we see him play again. The reason I used that figure of $750,000, Cleve, is because we only paid Bruschi $800,000 last year. How could we bring Ty Law back, now, and give him more money then we gave Bruschi?

Good point, but Law seems pretty determined to get his cash. I myself would take the biggest contract that my team offered, IF we won three out of the last 4 rings.

Who wants another DB that is long in the tooth? We already have our young, talented DBs, and I didn't want the team spending money on a corner, who is coming off a major injury.

If anything, I'm laughing at KC. They got Kendrell "Hot Tub" Bell, and another player that is a liability in Law... :D

Tha Rock...barring a medical failure Ty Law is going to be a Chief...not a Jet.

If, and its a big if, Ty Law can get back to something approximating his best then a team like the Chiefs will have made shrewd signing as they need all the help on D they can get.

The Jets are also quite weak defensively, but this was hidden last year, due to the boring, conservative no-risks offence the Jets ran.

I rate the Bengals D to be a similar grade to the Chiefs - they too, could use all the help they can get.

Lions | To Work Out Law Tomorrow
Sun, 24 Jul 2005 06:32:33 -0700

Nick Cafardo, of the Boston Globe, reports free agent CB Ty Law (Patriots) will work out for the Detroit Lions Monday, July 25, according to agent Carl Poston. It will be his second visit to the team.

Nick Cafardo, of the Boston Globe, reports agent Carl Poston said free agent CB Ty Law (Patriots) either has offers or drawn strong interest from six teams. Poston said New England isn't one of the six, but that Patriots coach Bill Belichick has placed calls to Law trying to gauge his interest in returning to New England. Poston said he would be ''surprised" to see the Patriots re-sign Law and thought it would be ''unlikely." Poston recently commented on some of the offers he has been receiving for Law. ''Some are hamburger and some are filet mignon," he said. Asked whether it was conceivable Law could get an offer similar to the four-year, $24 million deal he turned down from the Patriots last season, Poston said, ''That's hard to say right now. We haven't really started negotiating. I told some teams to give us their numbers and some have, but we haven't negotiated yet." Poston said he still expects Law to be ready for training camp.

Whoever heard that Law is signing with the chiefs got a bad resource. The lions are closest to signing him reported by the NFL network.

The Inside Scoop
The Buzz
Four teams are competing for Ty Law? the Jets, Lions, Chiefs and Jaguars. According to Law's agent, Carl Poston, the Jets made an offer averaging more than $6 million. Law is close with former Patriots running back Curtis Martin and Law's daughter lives in Manhattan. The Jets have a huge hole at left cornerback created by Donnie Abraham's retirement. Law's workout for the Lions was so impressive a member of their medical staff said they had to consult the X-rays to tell which foot he broke last October. The Lions were expected to make an offer. ... The Falcons could have two new starting receivers for Michael Vick. Rookie Roddy White has a chance to win the starting flanker spot opposite split end Peerless Price, who will be challenged by Michael Jenkins. ... Expect more rookie holdouts this year. Deals are harder to negotiate because the amortization of signing bonuses is permitted over only five seasons instead of six seasons. ... Agent Leigh Steinberg says Ricky Williams walked away this time last year partly because he felt he was being "Earl Campbell-ized" after his 392 carries for Dolphins coach Dave Wannstedt in 2003. Campbell walked with a cane during Super Bowl XXXVIII ceremonies in Houston and looked much older than his 49 years.
