View Full Version : I just wish the officiating would be more consistent.

The Steelers got called for excessive celebration for a late game TD celebration. Washington scored a TD and Hines joined him in the dance and that was the violation.
I am not upset on the call, I am upset however that several of the Giants celebrated on top of the star in the end zone of the Cowboys and NOTHING HAPPENED!
The NFL made rule changes about end zone celebrations and it seems the only change was selective violation calls for excessive celebration.
If the Steelers call was for being excessive then there are Giants that should be suspended.

I think some refs just take some rules more seriously than others.

I wish the same thing lovejoy. It seems to depend on who's doing the officiating, and perhaps just a BIT as to which team they prefer.

It certainly is frustrating to see one of our guys get slapped with a flag for something, and someone else on another team does exACTly the same thing, and they're not penalized for it.

And it seems that a lot of fans complain about the same thing--it just needs to be the same across the board--no favorites, no letting anything slide for one that you don't another!

It does seem the officials tend to favor one team over another. Example, last week when the scubs beat the bungles. The roughing the passer call there was totally bogus. Then you've got this past week when the refs couldn't decide what was excessive celebration or that helmet to helmet contact is or isn't legal.

One day, the NFL might actually have to hire individuals that not only know the game but can be more consistent in their calls.
