Good (but long) read on David Pollack

For those who recall the injury to David Pollack, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (Pollack was a big time player at UGA before being drafted by the Bengals) has a nice, albeit long, story on his recovery from a C-6 fracture.

There has been a lot of discussion about why Ben wants to get right back out there after suffering another brain trauma. Pollack wanting to get back out there after breaking his neck illustrates the incredible competitive nature of pro athletes and provides insight to a layman such as myself as to why these guys are willing to risk everything to get back in the game.

Thanks for this Dan. Obviously living here in Cincy, there has been alot of press coverage on this. It truly is inspirational to see him walking into Cincy Children's and watch the kid's faces light up. Some of those kids are so sick. They seem so receptive to him because his struggles are so apparent with the halo he's wearing. He may be a Bengal, but has the heart of a true champion, and so does his wife. He is a credit to that organization. I pray for a full recovery for him and every happiness life has to offer.
