View Full Version : My Dog Died Yesterday

I'm at college and I get the call from my mom last night. He had a tumor around his stomach that was bleeding internally. We had him put to rest yesterday. It was either that, or a $1,500 operation that had a very low chance of survival. He would've been 10 on November 21st.

I wish so bad I could've been there to say goodbye, but I'm all the way out here in Pittsburgh. He loved people so much, and from what my mom told me, despite being in obvious pain all week, he was wagging his tail until the end.

Rest In Peace, Tucker. 1996-2006

To say that we're devastated, would be putting it lightly. Please win, Steelers, I can't take anything else, big or small, this weekend.

Sorry to hear that. I had a good ole friend of 13 years pass away not to long ago and it was hard to deal with, but it will get better in time.

Steelers....I really hope that your memories with your dog help you out through this...those who have never formed a bond with a pet may not understand...but I know its pretty tough...hang in there.

I am truly sorry to hear that. I think people who don't have dogs have no appreciation for how much dogs become part of your family. And how devastating it is when they pass on. Anyway, I feel for you. Take care of yourself.

Hey Steelers, I can definately relate. Comfort yourself with the knowledge that Tucker is at peace and not in pain. I'm sorry for your loss.

I so sorry.......my own little sweetie passed to the Rainbow Bridge in March. She was 11 and died suddenly one night in my arms. I know just how you feel.......I still miss her even though my new pup is a joy. No dog will ever be quite like my Libby.

Tucker is at peace and playing on the Rainbow Bridge with my little girl........I'm very sorry for your loss.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers everyone. I felt a little better today. I spent the whole day with my girlfriend and I'm trying to focus on the good things.

I'm so sorry about Tucker's passing, Steelers. I lost my baby girl, Cassie, several years ago and it still hurts. Dogs are better than most people, imo - hang on to those great memories you had with Tucker and take comfort in the knowledge that he won't have to suffer anymore.

Sorry to hear that Steelers. It's so rough to lose a pet. I'm sure Tucker is in a better place now.

Sorry to hear that. I'd rather spend time with my dog than a lot of people I know.

I've never had a dog, but I found a Lab also named Tucker on the side of the road. Took him home, let him stay for a night, and found his owner the next day. Man that dog was so nice, I was so damn sad to give him back. I can't believe how you feel after losing him.

Rest in Peace Tucker.
