Great minds must think alike, but I have to admit that this is awfully ironic. I was logging on just now to start a new thread about this very topic. I actually decided to go back to the bearded look myself today. I only shave about once a week due to extremely sensitive skin, so I can do just about anything I want to with my facial hair when I do shave. Call me superstitious, or call me corny, or both, but shortly after Ben did last year, I grew in a beard as well and kept it until shortly after the Super Bowl. Because I'm so sure my beard actually had something to do with the Steelers winning the Super Bowl (insert sarcasm here), and because of how badly (a word which doesn't even do this season justice) this season is going, I've decided to grow the beard in again.

In that light, I would also like to propose that if you're wives/girlfriends will allow it (my girlfriend hates it), all of the male gendered (and female too for that matter :jawdrop: ) Steeler faithful out there grow in a beard as well. So gentlemen, what do you say? :tt02:  :tt02:  :tt02:

As much as I enjoy not shaving, it would create an air of hostility in my house. One in which would complete eliminate any ability to watch football in general. I think I'll keep the lower half goatee (whatever it's called these days) like what Ben had when he first came in the league and leave it at that. But I can go along with not trimming it.

I would be willing to stop shaving as well,Don't think my boyfriend would agree. But Hell its for the STEELERS he would just have to understand. Right? :tt02:

If it works, it doesn't matter if he understands, just that he accepts it! He'll get use to it (but then again I wouldn't attempt this strategy on my wife).

Because it worked so well last year, Duce has promised that in order to help the team, he will bring back his lucky sweatpants from last season, unwashed, and wear them while standing on the sideline, just like last year.

Talk about selfless. He deserves at least a 2 year extension for doing this.

Cracked me up! :toofunny:

But hey--maybe there really is something to it. Ever hear of Samson? His strength was in his hair. Maybe for Big Ben, it's in his beard! :P

Petition signed, sealed, and hopefully delivered.

is this petition still on?

keisel's mountainman, faneca's great pumpkin, and troy's Jesus beard are looking pretty snazzy.

what the steelers need to get out of this funk is more beard....

and more cowbell!

(even the annoying ma$$hole in nfl network's "joe's diner" commercials agrees.)

Did anyone catch his exclusive NFL network interview from the locker room? I don't know for how long, but as of now it looks like the beard is back.

Don't know how old that interview is, Shut Down, but I just saw a clip of Ben tonight visiting a child with cancer (part of Make-A-Wish) at Childrens Hospital and he looked pretty clean shaven to me. I believe the visit was on Monday afternoon.

Yeah that was the thing I was worried about. It looked pretty dang full but I didn't expect it to stay... Oh well, people can keep hoping - I personally don't care about or believe in the super stitions at all but it is fun to play along sometimes lol...

Relax. He was on the NFL Channel the other day doing an interview and the beard was back in its early stages. The hair will take longer, but it looks like he may be going caveman again. WOO HOO.

I was thinking about this after work today, we should also petition Troy to shave his beard off. He didn't play this poorly until after he grew it out....

So Troy for the love of Steelers Nation - shave your beard!!!
