I'm hoping that's the only reason why this move occured.

Bet ya Walter is happy. I like that kid more then Washington, better hands, bigger target, only problem has been his route running. But I hope ward plays.

I think Ward was practicing, but I can't blame the Steelers for being prepared.

That, and if Ben can't find anyone open, Ben needs to take it himself or throw it out of bounds so it's a no harm no foul situation.

Even just showing that he'll take it himself will help add a missing element this year for opposing defenses. If they know he won't run they why would they ever break coverage?

For what it is worth...

Nate Washington runs a 4.53 40.

Walter Young runs a 4.57 40.

Ok, so Nate is faster. But, Walter might be a better target for Roethlisberger?

By no means am I stating the 40 times mean anything between the two, that's why I stated "For what it's worth"......

On that note, I'm guessing the Steelers chose Washington over Young for a reason at the beginning of the season. But, at this point in time I'd have to believe Young's hands are better than Washington's. Hell, his hands might be better than Wilson's. We can jump on Washington all we want (rightfully so, inconsistent), but it's not as if Cedrick Wilson is looking like Swann.

Just how long has this Young guy been in the Hall Of Fame?:jawdrop:
Give me a break, if he were better than Washington and Wilson then he would have been on the active roster along time ago, or on some other team by now. Nate has just been inconsistent this year and I still believe he has a chance at bein' a pretty good 3rd reciever down the road.. But if Young is bound for the Hall Of Fame with those Great Hands and Great 4.5 speed then bring him in and let him take Wards place today..:banging: :chicken:

Young showed some promise in the preseason against the Panthers. Granted he only caught two passes but he seemed to get open on a good number of plays. Paid his dues in Europe and proved to be one of the better WR's over there. Caught just about everything Ben threw at him in TC. Wouldn't mind seeing him get his chance. Never know though, if Washington and Wilson keep dropping balls.....

The Steelers will be fine at WR... Hines as usuall is very reliable and come next year Holmes will be starting across from him, now all we need to do is find that 3rd receiver. It needs to be someone with alot of speed to compliment Holmes who is pretty fast himself. But I think the Steelers have their 3rd reciever already on the field... Heath Miller is or should be our 3rd reciever.. he has all the talent that we need at the TE spot and we just aint using him near enough...
