A chance meeting between a Pittsburgh Steeler and a seven-year-old boy from the North Side has brought tears of joy to a family worried about what kind of Christmas they might have this year.

Kenny Scott, 7, and his mother, Marlene Shipman, bumped into Tyrone Carter at Ross Park Mall on Friday.

Shipman, a big Steelers fan, recognized Carter right away.

Carter quickly took a liking to her son.

With Kenny's mother's permission, Carter took him to the electronics store, bought him PlayStation 2 and the popular Madden 07 NFL video game.

Kenny was delighted and his mother was brought to tears.

"I was concerned about what kind of gift he would get. They say God works in mysterious ways, and God blessed me through Tyrone Carter," she said.

Kenny has hardly stopped playing the game since he got it. And one thing is for certain, he always puts Tyrone Carter in to play.

His mother can't say enough about Carter.

"I just want to thank him because he didn't have to do that," she said.

Wow....
Although, pretty much all of the Steelers have good hearts.
Still, that's probably the coolest thing so far.

You know... I was the same way. Watching him in the locker room after the AFC championship game, I just shook my head. The guy was acting like a gangster... not an NFL player.

But this, well... Let's just say that I relearned not to judge NFL players quite so fast... unless they are from the Bungles.

I wish a Steeler would give ME a PS2!
Anyway, it just shows how the Steelers still have heart no matter what their record is.
