According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Troy won't even need surgery, he just has a sprained MCL and no surgery will be required. They said he will probably miss a few games though. That's some good news. Here's the article.

Agreed. He should watch Spaceballs. (Hey, why not? His shoulder healed well after he did that. :sofunny: )

He's done. This is a four or five week injury.

Thanks for leaving your heart out on the field every week, and all your hard work!!

See you next year Troy!

Great news to wake up to!!

Hines should sit out, too. He's right........he didn't have to be in that game. He's a fighter.

Thanks Preacher... that is exactly how I would have said it... Our season is over and God knows we dont need to take unneeded chances with the future of one of the best in the business in Troy and Hines... their seasons should be over now... I know that Hines will probably be back but Troy should consider this a early vacation.. Keep'em in your prayers everyone..

The first story I looked for when reading the P-G online this morning was word of Troy's injury - this is much better news than I expected.

It tells you the kind of season it has been when the best news is that injuries are not as bad as first feared.

I agree he should sit the rest of the season. Let's see what Smith can do

That is great news! I hope he doesnt rush it. Even if it is in playing shape after a few weeks he still wont be in game shape. Rest up come back strong next year you deserve it.
HopefullyIll get to see him diving out of a truck again at a parade in the future!

Sit him and lets see what A.Smith has by this time in the season.

Sweet! But, let's not rush him back like we did with Roethlisberger. We need to get some O-line help and fill some other holes (CB & New Coach), but I think 2007-08 looks to be promising if everyone is healthy.

Well, Hines and TRoy should sit out for a while. Hines will probably come back. Troy might come back for the last game and maybe if he gets to go to the Pro bowl again. I just hope the Steelers resign Troy after his contract is up.

Troy most likely is gonna be back. Especially if he is pro bowl bound

Exactly, I mean, he is probably the most voted for strong safety on the ballot. And Hines might be going too.

I love Troy but I dont want to see him play again until next year. Get better and come back next year ! The only bowl game I want to see him in is the one where he is wearing all black and gold not just the helmet!

I got ill wen i heard that he got hurt badly. Especially with all the false claims like: troys out for this season and next season. BLAH BLAH. BUt im soo glad hes ok. THe dude is one hell of an athlete and he better be w/ the BLACK AND GOLD for a long long time.

GET WELL TROY

Everyone who is hurting now should be off for the rest of the season. Actually maybe it would be a good time to bench most of the 1st string guys and use this time to delevop some of the unused players. The season is shot to hell anyway, might as well get some use out of it.

I agree it is not worth risking more injury on a wing and a prayer. Which unfortunately is what this being a winning season has become.
Im sure if the question was asked before the start whether anyone would rather have a couple players make it to the pro bowl or to be a part of a team adding another column to the great hall everyone would have chosen the latter.
I love Troy and Hines and all that they bring to the team every down but if they are hurt and could face more severe injuries then what is the point?
Im sure both of them would have prefered a trip to Miami this year as opposed to Hawaii.

Update: Troy will be missing the next game and possibly the game after that. So in all, a possible two games. After that, he will be checked out by medical staff and they will go from there. Case in point: He isn't missing the entire season.
