I've seen this kid play a few high school games for state and regional champion Hylton HS in No. Va. a few years back.
He played running back in HS and it was pretty much a TD or long run every time he touched the ball.

I believe he's one of the favorites for the Butkus Award this year.

I wouldn't draft either one of them...can you say "Kordell Stewart"?

vince young won't be a great qb in the league but he probably won't be as hard headed as kordell and might accept the change to wr. i'd draft him in a second if he'd say he wouldn't mind being moved to a wr

You cant say Vince Young wont be a good Qb in the NFL. He has most of the stuff required to be one the only thing you could question is his decision making ability. He has the arm and hes pretty accurate and he can easily improve in this by the time he goes into the draft. If Vick can make it Vince could make it the only difference between the two when Vick was in college is .22 seconds. They both have good arm strength but both arent that accurate but the ability to create is what makes a good QB. Vince has showed he can create at the college level and do it well he just has to step up his decision making. Id draft him as a QB in the first or second round probably late but it would be as a QB. If he stays another year I would say hed go top ten in the first round. Basically its a guessing game you could be right or i could but i hate when ppl talk down and dont back up the claims as to why.

i ain't talkin down on vince i'm a ut fan, he's my favorite player until he gets drafted by a team i hate, i'm just sayin with his athletic ability he doesn't need to be a qb to be a success in the nfl and he might be more suited at wr if he comes out this year but if he's smart he'd stay his last year and improve as much as he can because he is way to talented not to be in the nfl whether it's at qb or wr..... hook em'

nice name by the way

hmmmmmmmm
09-29-2005, 09:42 PM
Yeah i know its a wonderful name. My question is he has what he needs to become a QB in the NFL so why in the hell would you wanna convert him to a WR? Cause hes 6'5 and has 4.5 speed? Hes gonna go through his whole college time as a QB and hes gonna be used to playin one. Theres no reason to convert him unless he doesnt improve on his decision making ability but whos to say he can catch and run clean routes. Point is ppl are riding off all of his talent just cause he makes bad decisions and isnt Manning with the accuracy but he can and will improve on all of this with time. Hes already improved by leaps and bounds since last year with his passing

Koopa
09-29-2005, 09:55 PM
well he did show he can catch a deep pass last year, and he don't need to be that good at routes look at moss just run him striaght and let him jump for the ball. i know he has what it takes to be a very good qb but if he doesn't pan out he can also try to convert as a wr casue of his athleticism. and he could've had better passing numbers last year if sweed wasn't such a waterhead because he dropped passes bevo could've caught  he just needs to stay one more year to hopefully work on his throwing mechanics and he could very well be a top 20 qb but right now he's probably a late first rounder early second project. also this is all my own opinion i watch him play ever saturday and i'm just saying what i see from him

hmmmmmmmm
09-29-2005, 10:10 PM
Yeah i know its an opinion but i see nothing from him that makes me believe hes better at WR then QB. Almost every Qb who gets drafted is a project very few come in chunkin TD's left and right. I just dont see why ppl say stuff like he should be converted to a WR when hes becoming a good QB

well i don't remember saying he should be converted in any of my post i said he won't be as harded as kordell if someone wanted him to convert. and i also never said he be better at wr then at qb, and are you by any chance gary from kingsville tx????

Maybe you didnt say it but this right here basically says he aint gonna be worth a shit as a qb and hed be lucky to go in the second as a WR. Well scratch that yeah you pretty much did with this line "i'd draft him in a second if he'd say he wouldn't mind being moved to a wr" and thats how my disagreement with you started. (am i who from where? :wtf: )

Koopa
09-29-2005, 10:47 PM
well that's this year and i was kinda comparing him to what suit said he's gonna be. so i made that statement as if he was gonna end up as kordell, maybe i should've put that so you could understand what i was talkin about when i made that statement. as for the am i who from where, i don't know i thought i ask cause you kinda post like my friend and you came straight to the thread where vince young is being talked about and posted so i figured i ask and just about every message board that his name is mention he post on that thread

hmmmmmmmm

There is no way in hell Vince will become anything in the area of Kordell. Vince to me is a better athlete and hes takin Texas on his back so hell be good with pressure although that wasnt questioned.

and before i go.... Chamillitary mayne

lol, fuckin gary, i knew it was you, it's easy to pick you out mayne, i know he ain't gonna be nothing like kordell i was just goin along with suit as if he was gonna be like kordell and showing how he would be different if he turned out like kordell

I'm sticking to my guns on this...there are a TON of athletic QB's in College, but only a handful can make the jump to the NFL. Only time will tell, of course...

well yeah but a lot of them haven't single handedly win the rose bowl like he did last season. vince is a playmaker, he may not have the accraucy most do but all that matters is the W and he gets that with his ability to make plays when they are needed the most.

Michael Vick!! He is proven. Running QB's dont make it in the NFL

AJ Freakin HAWK!!!! #1 overall or should be

hmmmmmmmm

Lol i dont know about that, Vick needs a little more Offensive firepower to be good. You cant blame it on Vick hes doin what he can considering the O around him. I see Vince as a more physical and tad bit slower version of Vick hell do good in the NFL if coached right.

The coaching part is huge. I can almost see his pre-draft report now:

"Big, strong, strong-armed athletic QB. Poor mechanics, bad footwork and an awkward throwing motion. Takes a lot of chances, sometimes depending too much on sheer athletic ability. Needs work on his progressions and reading defenses."

Everything but the throwing motion can be coached out of him (That I wouldn't mess with), so, yes, he has the tools to succeed, but he's awful raw still.

I didn't make this up, I cribbed it from a couple different "scouts views".

well those scouts obviously need to be fired and are haters cause i've been watching vince young his whole career and he has great foot work

They aren't questioning his footwork running, they are addressing his footwork as a quarterback...planting his feet and whatnot.

I was stating the fact that Vick was drafted so high yet he has not proven anything. Yeah he is a great player to watch but to me he is not a good QB. Maybe I worded it wrong in the other post.

I have seen Vince play in a few games and I think he could be a very good QB if he lands with the right team.
