As the year closes, my friends and I have taken time and looked back on this year. We were so tired of seeing how the holiday's have become about the glitz and glamor, and we just wanted to think about what matters most.
As we did, I have realized that some of my most important life lessons, I learned this year. And I wanted to share some life lessons that just might make you think.

I have learned that life is a gift, that it can be taken away just as easily as it can be given. I found that out the hard way this year when my grandfather, who was like a father to me, passed away on mothers day of this year due to lung cancer.

I've also learned that life as it's good and bad times. But if you string together all the good times, you outweigh the bad times. So If you are having a bad time, you have had about twenty other good times to be thankful for. But what we should worry about is time, and how we use it, and about not having enough of it to spend with our loved ones. Because once you run out you can't get any more.

So remember these thoughts through the rest of this year, and think about your family, eat some food, and cheer the Steelers on to victory. Our families are the most important things we have in our lives. That my friends, it was the holiday season is all about.

Very true words ! I definitely can relate I too was very close to my Grandfather and miss him every day and always remember that he taught me not only how to be responsible but how to always live life fully and in his words "bella famiglia" love family .

Your other point about good times out numbering bad times in life. Is one of my favorite lines in a Dave Matthews song " The space between the tears we cry is the laughter that keeps us coming back for more " I always remember that when Im having a bad time.
Happy holidays to you and your loved ones and dont forget to toast your Grandfather ! Because even though he is gone it sounds like he left behind alot of good in you.

Thanks, I've never actually heard that song. Although Dave Matthews is pretty good.

Life is definitely a gift........It takes some people losing someone important in there life to realize it. Some will never realize it at all....And, others knew it all along.
I have always tried to live my life with no regrets. Laugh about everything I can. Love and treat others like it may be the last time I see them....Live like it might be the last breath I ever take and with lots of passion..........
