..... on 29 December 1974, the Stillers won their first-ever road playoff game, coming from behind to beat the hated Raiders 24-13 with three 4th quarter TDS, while holding Oakland to under 25 yards rushing the football, to earn their berth in Super Bowl IX in New Orleans.

I had turned 15 during training-camp that summer, and was a big Stiller fan, spending several days a week at St. Vincent's College, watching practice:
shortly after the game ended, a friend of my father called, asking if we'd like to ride to the old airport and greet the team upon their arrival from Oakland?

The friend, who had a Chevrolet dealership, had taken-in a Jeep Wagoneer on-trade, and he picked-up my Dad, my younger brother, and I, and set-out for the airport, only to find several well-lubricated grown-men, playing TACKLE FOOTBALL in the hallways (using a tossle-cap for the ball! ), who were also waiting to see the team:
when the team arrived, a crowd of several thousand met the team at the gate, forcing Police to seperate the people and form a pathway, leaving my brother at the front of the crowd, where Ernie 'FATS' Holmes stooped-down, allowing my brother to 'rub-the-arrow' as he passed-by.

Big John Madden couldnt blame the Immaculate Reception for that one.
When you blow a 4th quarter 10-point lead, at-home, to what was still considered an 'up-start' team, even Pinkie couldn't find an alibi.....
