what is impressive about this play is not only the speed he closes on the ball with, the power he demolishes tj with, but the absolute perfect angle he takes to play the ball.

this is the exact same stuff the steelers explained they saw on tape, when i was scratching my head wondering who he was after the 3rd round selection. the cowboys would absolutely kill for a safety with his skills right about now. he would be an instant starter there and probably the missing link to their d in a playoff run that is probably gonna come up well short.

I really liked the pick when it was made and Smith's play this year made me like the pick ever more. This kid has the chance to be a stud. With Smith starting next year I think WR's/TE's will have Smith in the back of their minds when they are catching passes. Plus another reason I liked the Smith pick. Anthony blocked 6 kicks in his college career.

It's almost scary...........this kid is only beginning his career as a Steeler. :tt02:

I love tivo I rewound and watched that over and over thru the whole commercial break! Nice to see a hit in the middle like that # 27 reminded me of watching #47 back in the day! :helmet:

Oh man... Mel Blount was a beast. I think he was 6' 3" and about 205. He hit like a freight train.

Back then that was huge for that position. Just imagine the fear offensive players must have had you are lucky enough to make it through Mean Joe, Lambert and the rest of the Steel curtain and you have something that big moving that fast ready to smack you in the earhole ! :banging:

Could you imagine him playing in today's game?? Is there another corner this big in the league??

Watch the beginning of the video when they show TJ rolling around on the ground.

He looks (with his eyes only and his helmet still on the ground) up at A. Smith after the hit, as if to say, "who the hell just hit me?" He then rolls his eyes back down to the ground and rolls around.

Yeah Mel was the man. I used to love to watch him run around and crush opposing WRs.

Whenever I need a hearty laugh, I just pull up this video or the suplex on CJ and chuckle away. :toofunny: I think both IBoinkedMyMama and CJTheUg had skid marks in their Fruit of the Looms after those hits. :poop:
