Raiders get a tough break in their attempt to rebuild a fallen franchise.

The Bears get the 2nd weakest schedule.

Patriots get the 3rd toughest schedule.

Steelers get the 10th toughest schedule.

Bengals get the 11th toughest schedule.

Look at the AFC/NFC divide from top to bottom - only 1 NFC team in the top 16 for strength of schedule.

It's an easier schedule for us. That's for sure.

Do they do that to the Raiders on purpose??? That's....interesting.

Most of the schedule is pre-determined a few years in advance - its should also be remembered that their division has a pretty good record across the board - and quite alot of that is due to them having to play the Raiders twice a year.

That makes sense.

Naw, it's just the luck of the draw. It goes with the territory when you're a Raiders fan. Most of us don't buy into all the conspiracy theory BS about the NFL having it in for the Raiders, even though, sometimes you gotta wonder...

That makes sense.

Plus if you think about it overall the win loss record in the NFL is .500 since every game is won and lost. So the overall record in the NFL is 336-336. The Raiders automatically take away 14 losses from that so chances are, they are going to be playing mostly winning teams. And like LITP said they play in a tough division.

Almost every year the worst team in the NFL is going to be pretty close to having the toughest schedule the next year.

Clear as mud?

And, last year the Steelers, Bengals, and Panthers all would have counted as a tough schedule... but as we know, those teams collectively went 24-24. Toss in the Seahawks and you have 33-31. Toss in the '05 playoff Redskins and that tough schedule gives you 38-41.

It has to do with inter-divisional schedules too. If one division, like the NFC East this year who have 3 teams in the playoffs, is really good and are already predetermined to play the AFC West the following season then it looks like the Raiders get screwed. The Bears play in a soft conference and division so it is difficult for their schedule to be tough until the NFC gets better.

at least the Bears move up one spot and we will really get to see what the Colts are made of next year.

Like I said... its ok. Raider fans are used to the hate. By the way... who won the game between our teams this year?

For the record... the Raiders are one up on the Steelers in the series between the two teams.

You know,

I would prefer a schedule were each team plays one game against every other team in thier conference.

This way, the first place team is in first place not because of an easy schedule, but because they beat out the other teams for the position.

I think that would be nice... but if there is one other game, who would they play? One team from the opposite conference? that would take 32 years for every team to play every team.

 It would be way too many games to play everyone in the conference in my opinion..
