This is tenantive but here's how i see the top 15 picks panning out. I will address the second half after the playoffs.

1) Raiders: Calvin Johnson WR Georgia tech (Al Davis will not be sold on any of this years top Qb's with a pick this high)

2) Lions: Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin (need to get back to being able to run the ball,...will look for Drew Stanton perhaps in the 2nd)

3) Browns: Troy Smith Qb Ohio State (Pick will suprise many outside of scouts and insiders, but smith is THE best Qb available regardless of height. Could have immediate impact on offense)

4) Bucs: Amobi Okoye DT Louisville (Bucs are very thin up front with the loss of Mcfarland and likely departure of Rice. And Okoye's ability and intelligence have many regarding him as the best D-lineman of the Draft)

5) Cardinals: Justin Blaylock OT/OG Texas (With Thomas off of the board this is a no brainer. Blaylock is a "Road Grader" with the athleticism to play Guard or Tackle)

6) Redskins: Alan Branch DT Michigan (they are in shambles up front)

7) Vikings: Dwayne Jarrett WR USC (They are thin at receiver and DJ is the 1b receiver of his class)

8) Texans: Reggie Nelson S Florida ( Need safety help terribly. And though I regard Landry as the best DB let alone safety,.. the Texans will probably become enamored with Nelson's 40 time and "brain fart")

9) Dolphins: Paul Posluzny LB Penn State (Need to inject some impact youth to aging defensive unit,....Pos would be an almost perfect fit)

10) Falcons: Tedd Ginn Jr WR Ohio State (Fan outcry and Blank's coddeling of Vick will make them attempt to get him more "weapons". Ginn although undersized,.. is VERY explosive. And could make Vick actually look like a QB)

11) 49ers : Marcus Mccauley CB Fresno State (Need help at corner and Mccauley will probably put up better numbers at the combine than Hall. Not to mention he's bigger and a california product)

12) Bills: Levi Brown (Bills need help on O-line and Brown is a "battle tested" mountain of a lineman)

13) Rams: Buster Davis lb FSU (Almost perfect fit for Rams. Davis is comparable to Jon Vilma)

14) Panthers: Marshawn Lynch RB Cal (Need consistencey in the ground game and Lynch may very well be this years "Laurence Maroney")

15) STEELERS: ADRIAN PETERSON rb Oklahoma (could be one of the biggest shocks of the Draft. Peterson dropping to us because of teams drafting for need and or slight concerns about his durability.)

Stranger things have happened. And it seems as though nearly every year,.....something fails to go "according to script" in the 1st round.

Ive been knocking around the Smith scenario....Of course the knock against him will be his height (6'1) and his 40 time of 4.60...But he has arguably the strongest arm in the draft, great field vision, and although not fast..he is pretty quick.
I wont go so far as to put him in the 1st round yet..but one can most certainly make a case for it.

Barring a horrible combine, JaMarcus Russell will be in the top 15.

And if Willis or Laurinitis is on the board, the Steelers should jump on it. Peezy's not getting any younger.

And he got run over by the freshman QB Tebow as well.

wow czar....with all the teams that have moved to the 3-4,i'm suprised you wouldn't have Gains Adams /DE from clemson ,in your top 15. if he falls to 15 and the steelers don't snatch him...i'll probably bust up another tv. the guys an easy top 10 pick...

Without a doubt M.O.P Adams is a stud. I just think that the teams picking in the top 15 that require help "up front" would be better served by "run stoppers". I just don't see that in Adams as he's more of a "tweener". (As you stated)
I was trying to picture the best fits for these teams based upon "priority" needs. Though some would argue that Adams has more upside than Okoye,..... from what i've seen Okoye seems as though he's physically and intelectually a little more "league ready"

I think the Bucks might look to take Gaines Adams. I think Adams will play DE in a 4-3 front and S. Rice is getting old.

Yeah he had tough time. But perhaps the "layoff" had something to do with his ineffectiveness (as well as that of their entire team).
But i still believe he's the best Qb coming out this year. Yes Russell is a "specimen" and has all of the tools. But in reality he's had just a single stellar season.
Brady Quinn is another with all of the physical tools. But is he "clutch" when it really matters ? (Smith had a poor showing against Florida,... but for the majority of his college career he performed at his best the "bigger" the game.)
I also think Smith's uncanny ability to "make plays", his accuracy and abilty to diagnose coverage with speed give him the edge on Quinn. (The title game being an exception as oppossed to the rule in this regard)

I could see that BlackandGold. He's (Adams) very similar to Rice in regards to stature and style of play. But if i was their GM i'd go with Okoye.

"Hail Caesar,.......HAIL THE BLACK AND GOLD"okoye???.......he's a 320lb tackle....adams is a 260lb DE/outside linebacker...whats the connection? i was referring to 3-4 def. teams looking for the next shawn merriman.

I thought you were asking WHY i didn't have Adams coming off of the board before our pick at the 15th spot. Thinking that you meant one of those teams would look for him to play as a "Simeon Rice" type End (as stated by BlackNGold earlier) in a 4-3.

That would be awesome if that happened. I don't think we would need a RB in the 1st round but if Peterson drops to us then WOW we better take him.

It was a good overall draft

I agree.....although it wouldnt surprise me if Troy actually gets drafted by the Browns. But AP available at #15? No way.

And he got run over by the freshman QB Tebow as well.

True, but next season lets watch what he does when he has to run more than QB sneaks against some of those nasty SEC defenses.

1. The Raiders will take Russell. I think JaMarcus Russell will be the next Akili Smith, and Al Davis IS still calling the shots in Oakland. It's a perfect fit...Al Davis has a top draft choice to screw up, and there's an incredibly overhyped and overrated QB sitting there just BEGGING to be drafted too soon.

2. The Lions would do well to draft Thomas, and he's practically a local. That being said, I have them taking a WR for the 4th out of 5 years with Calvin Johnson (You know, there's a reason the same 4-5 teams always have the top 4-5 picks every year).

3. Peterson or Quinn to the Browns. Both are the wrong pick. Peterson can't run and Quinn can't pass behind a crumbling OL, but the Browns are the Browns, so...If Thomas is there, take him, if not, trade this pick and scoop up as many quality OL that you can. Oh, The Browns will select Troy if he's there at 35, but 3 is way too high...

4. Bucs would do well to select Okoye, and they very well might...

And that's as far as I can go right now...
