to change our little "one for the thumb" saying
My dad was on here the other day just looking and he brought up the fact that Steelers fans have been saying that since 1980 and we have yet to get it. Maybe it is a jinx, who knows...my dad and I are very superstitious!
What do you guys think? Any ideas for something new? :)

"One for the thumb, and five for the other hand" works for me.

I agree "one for the thumb" seems to indicate that these players have 4 other super bowl rings. When in fact there hasn't been a player on the roster who has played on the super bowl teams in a long time.

^True, all those players are retired I think! Sometimes change is needed!

How about just forgetting the fifth for now. We`ll just say Detroit or Bust , for now.

With the way the Steelers are so steeped in tradition, the one for the thumb battle cry will always be around, especially w/ the diehards who've been watching the black n gold since before the 70's.

Detroit or Bust sounds great to me !!! or how about.. In the infamous words of Greg Lloyd after we beat the Colts to advance to the Super Bowl against the Cowboys; " Now lets go out and win the F*ckin Super Bowl !!!! "

Anything to be even with those god awful Dallas Cowboy fans....

I agree, One For The Thumb is out dated. The Drive for Five sounds good to me. :twocents:

I also agree since no one has four rings with us anymore so I'm for the drive for five, especially since we will be on the Bus.
