The Steelers filled the final opening in their coaching staff today when they hired Harold Goodwin as the team's offensive assistant.

Goodwin, 33, will help coach the offensive line and assist the offensive coaching staff with game preparation, video analysis and scouting of opponents.

Goodwin spent the past three seasons (2004-06) as the assistant offensive line coach with the Chicago Bears. Prior to joining Chicago, Goodwin was the offensive line coach at Central Michigan from 2000-03.

The Steelers also signed fourth-year veteran tight end Tim Euhus to a one-year contract, the team announced today. Financial terms of the deal were not released.

Euhus (6-5, 249) played with the Steelers in 2006 after signing with Pittsburgh in August. He saw action in the Steelers' season opener and then was inactive for three games before being released on Oct. 12. He did not sign with another team in 2006.

Euhus was originally drafted in the fourth round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills out of Oregon State. He was acquired by the New Orleans Saints on June 6, 2006, in a trade with the Bills, but was released by the Saints.

In 2005, Euhus appeared in 11 games for the Bills, making three starts. He finished with three receptions for 17 yards (5.7 avg.). He missed the first five games of the season with a shoulder injury. During his rookie year in 2004, Euhus played in 12 games (five starts) before being placed on the Reserve/Injured List Dec. 14, 2004, with a season-ending knee injury. For his career, he has 14 catches for 115 yards (8.2 avg.) with two touchdowns.
