Livinginthe past

Ok people, if you want to be part of the first SteelersFever Fantasy Mock Draft sign up below.

A quick reminder of what we are doing.

1. If you wish to take part then you need to be on the forum on Sunday 18th Feb at 10AM (EST) to post your application on the forum.

I will open up a specific thread at this time in the Draft Central sub-forum - first come first served.

The actual draft will take place the following Sunday (25th Feb) at the same time, so you need to be around for that if you intend to register.

2. You must have at least 100 posts to your name to enter.

3. Which team you draw is completely random - you will be informed what team you have been given after we have 32 'GM's.

4.The draft will run for 3 rounds and will follow the the actual draft order - it would be nice if you could write a little about why you picked who you did.

5. No trades allowed.

6. Picking a deliberately poor player for a team is not allowed - picking a punter in the 1st round for the Bengals, for example. (If there is any doubt about a particular pick then the 3 person committee will rule whether it is acceptable or not)

Good luck

JaMarcus Russell, QB from Louisiana State University!

Livinginthe past

HTG's picks will be divided up amongst us.

She has to visit the hospital.

One second.

Livinginthe past

Second pick is Detroit - Stillers43 on the clock

Stillers43
02-25-2007, 10:39 AM
Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin

The Lions are tempted to take Calvin Johnson (another WR), but pick the safe choice of an OL.

TasmanianTroy271
02-25-2007, 10:42 AM
With the #3 overall pick in the 2007 draft, the Cleveland Browns select

RB Adrian Peterson out of Oklahoma

While the Browns have more pressing needs in the trenches, they take the playmaking RB.

Stillers43
02-25-2007, 10:44 AM
Peterson will probably blow out his knee in the preseason since he would be a CLOWN!

Livinginthe past
02-25-2007, 10:46 AM
With pick no.4 - Tampa Bay select DE prospect - Jamaal Anderson- Arkansas

Tampa's pass rush has been poor recently - this is an urgently required upgrade.

Stillers43
02-25-2007, 10:47 AM
Wow! Calvin Johnson still on the board.

lamberts-lost-tooth
02-25-2007, 10:49 AM
At #5 ...the Cardinals Pick up Future Pro-Bowler Gaines Adams...DE Clemson!!

(But are still salivating over Calvin Johnson)

Livinginthe past
02-25-2007, 10:50 AM
Can Washington resist the pull of Calvin?

Stillers43
02-25-2007, 10:52 AM
TB would never let Calvin Johnson go in the first place. Minnesota would be so excited if that happened.

TasmanianTroy271
02-25-2007, 10:54 AM
With the 6th Overall Pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, The Washington Redskins pick

DT Alan Branch out of Michigan

While they are extremely tempted to take Calvin Johnson, the fact remains that the Redskins have a limited amount of picks in this draft, and need to fill a need before taking the playmaker Calvin Johnson

Stillers43
02-25-2007, 10:56 AM
Easy choice for Minny!

That is the biggest consensus pick I have seen for Washington in most mock drafts!

With the 7th pick Minnesota waste no time adding to their below par receiving corps - Calvin Johnson WR, Georgia

TasmanianTroy271
02-25-2007, 11:00 AM
With the 8th overall pick in the 2007 draft, The Houston Texans select

QB Brady Quinn out of Notre Dame

While they may bring in Jake Plummer, they still need a Franchise Signal Caller, and due to Levi Brown's abysmal 40-time, they can't take the risk of solidifying their O-line... yet.

Stillers43
02-25-2007, 11:01 AM
Minnesota has had trouble in the past getting their picks in time. How fast do you think they would make that pick if Johnson was still there?

Stillers43
02-25-2007, 11:02 AM
Miami selects Amobi Okoye DT Louisville

They are upset that Quinn didn't fall, but will be happy to help the aging D!

Lawrence Timmons. OLB. Florida State. he has great upside, and he is a beast physically. Also, even though he isn't very polished yet, by learning from great Steelers players, he will be groomed into a great linebacker for years.

I like the choice of the D players left. I wonder if Jarret is still there, should we go in that direction to get Ben a big receiver.

TasmanianTroy271
02-25-2007, 11:32 AM
with the 16th overall pick in the 2007 draft, the Green Bay Packers select

LaRon Landy, S, LSU

While all their dreams came true with Marshawn Lynch falling to them, they couldn't resist the lure of Laron Landry, who can upgrade any of their secondary positions.

Dynasty
02-25-2007, 11:33 AM
Well, I would be happy with Jarret, but i think we have more pressing needs on the defensive side of the ball.

There were no TE's picked, so if a team has an over riding need for one they might appear in the first round.

The skills spread was as follows:

QB - 2
RB - 3
WR - 6
OL - 4
DL - 8
LB - 3
DB - 6
