FYI - profootballtalk.com is reporting (based upon a San Diego area paper's report) that Porter has expressed interest in playing for San Diego - not a good fit because of Merriman and Phillips. But that he does have a visit to the 49'ers planned. Fly home Peezy, fly home.

I just don't get why people still take what they say seriously, that's all.

ANYWAY, to be back on topic. If the 49ers get Porter they will finally have a leader on defense and someone to replace Julian Peterson.

That's a nightmare! lolwell i read thismorning the ravens signed one of their backup lb to a 3yr 13 mil deal so they may be out of the hunt.

On Moving the Chains, P Kirwan asked that newly resigned LB Jarrett Johnson (?) what he thought Porter would fit in with the bad history between the two teams. The guy paused and stumbled around and said somthing like...well, I don't think the fans would take it well.
After he got off the line, Kirwan said soemthing like...I just don't think he would like it - he doesn'e want another LB in there either.

But I think it's safe to say with that guys paycheck, Joey would not fit there.

I would really like to see him in San Fran. I don't know why, but I can't see him in San Diego...

With the number of teams interested in Porter expanding, the former Steelers Pro Bowl linebacker is going to consult with his representatives to narrow down the field for visits. It’s believed that Porter would at least make a visit to Cincinnati to meet with Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis.
The dream is still alive.

Seems 49ers might have lost interest in Joey
