This should help pass some time. I have only owned one player jersey that was playing at the time I purchased it..... A Bettis jersey. It turned out to be a great purchase because about the time it wore out, he retired. That got me to thinking:

Is there a Steelers jersey you purchased that you were shortly ashamed to admit you had? What did you do to it?

No worst jersey, but when Jerome signed I found about 8 Bettis jerseys in the local TJMaxx for $13 bucks each. My only regret is that I only bought two.

Odonnel I burned..

Did you at least get to toast a few marshmallows over it? Wouldn't have been a complete waste if you did. :chuckle:

For me personally, it was also Kordell - I was fooled (like many) early on in his career into thinking he was the "real deal." :dang:

That shirt is now being used as a spare cleaning rag....

I have many jerseys, Bradshaw (got for my 2nd b-day, 1975, still have it, plan on giving it to my son), used to have a Woodson, dont know what happened to it, still have Kordell, Chad Brown, Yancy Thigpen, Levon Kirkland, Bettis, Ward, and Big Ben. All of them are black, never owned a white jersey. The worst one is obviously Kordell, but it is a nice jersey. It is a nike. It is a better quality jersey than the newer reebok jerseys. I thought about taking it to the local sports store to see if I could get Stewart covered up with Holmes, but have not done so yet.

I only hvae Big Ben and Polamalu (black,I won't buy a white jersey).

I was thinking about getting a Korkie one for like $7 and getting a Holmes nameplate put on the back.

I still can't get Kordell out of my mind when I see Holmes with that #10 jersey on. I will probably need to see a shrink to remove that image out of my mind.

Kordell Stewart. I bought it in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Funny story about that purchase. The women at the register that day was a native Pittsburgher who had relocated to Biloxi after her husband retired from the military. We chatted about the Steelers for about 5 minutes after I bought the jersey.

FYI: I still have that jersey in my closet.

My brother has a Greg Lloyd jersey. Too bad he put that gun in his kid's mouth and was a maniac off the field.

Kordell gave us some good times, too, guys. I think having an O'Donnell jersey is much worse. I still think he threw that Super Bowl.

Kordell. Although, if they made a Kent Graham Jersey I would have bought it ... for my dog who also named Graham. :sofunny:

Well, I wasn't ashamed, but one of my friends was because I owned a Ben Roethlisberger jersey. They're excuse was "Everyone owns one, I mean, way to conform." Other issues besides jersey came about and long story short, they weren't real friends and I no longer associate with them. Wow... talk about a soap opera, and it all started with a jersey...

None are bad, but Chad Brown jersey, the next season he went to Seattle, Levon Kirkland away, he was gone the next season, and I have an older Rod Woodson jersey.

I had that problem at times last year.I woke up once and thought Korkie was back on the team...I started hyperventilating and stuff,my Grandpa almost died laughing.

I was surprised the team didn't force him to pick a different number because jersey sales would be low with everyone dusting off thier old Korkie jerseys and just putting a Holmes nameplate on the back.

I got it for Christmas when I was a kid although t's not an officially licensed Steelers jersey. I believe that it was purchased at KMART or some other cheesy store.

It's black and it says Steelers on the front with the #83 below it. At the time #83 was Louis Lipps.

I'll tell you what though, for a cheesy jersey the material is TOP NOTCH and the lettering has weathered well. I've worn it while playing numerous games of sandlot football and it has held up like a champ. :sofunny:

It's Kordell and its buried in the closet.

But it's still a Steelers jersey. If it was the only one I had, I'd still wear it with pride, but probably not in Pittsburgh.

I don't have them anymore, but I use to have a Mark Malone and a Bubby Brister jersey. Now I have Jerome Bettis jersey that I wear on gamedays and I've got Rod Woodson jersey somewhere in my closet.

My worst-but not bad- jersey is my black Randle El. It was a gift exchange because I already have a Ward jersey. The next year he was gone. In the cooler Florida months it's been downgraded to a work jersey. I won't wear it to the local Steelers games at the bar, but everywhere else is ok. For now.
I have a crappy Bettis replica from some years ago that I won't wear in public, it's that bad. that one is for games that I can watch at home. My favorite is my Farrior jersey. Noone else around here wears one!!! Go figure.

I don't think a Barry Foster one would be too bad to have - he was actually pretty productive for a 5th round pick and he did stick around for 5 years.

I have a women's Roethlisberger, and I'd love a Miami one, too since I'm an alum. But my husband has a Kordell. He'd also like to change it to a Holmes (he went to OSU). I''m trying to figure that out. I'm getting the feeling from others I can buy a nameplate? I never knew that! He'll be so happy. It's a really nice jersey...one of the "authentic" ones.

I took out my Kordell Jersey slapped duct tape over the name and wrote Holmes... The drunks at Heinz loved it...

My best friend bought an 'authentic' (who knows if it was... EBay) Randle El Jersey halfway through the 2006 season...

Money well spent.. eh?

Can I still wear my Joey Porter jersey?

Seriously though. I consider him Black and Gold through and through, and he played an integral part in getting the elusive one for the thumb. What would go through your mind if you saw a fan sporting a (Steelers) Peezy jersey next season?

I bought matching home/away Barry Foster jerseys...thank God they were only replicas. That was 1994. He left the Steelers that year. My reaction? I bought matching home/away AUTHENTIC jerseys of, get this.....

.....wait for it.....

Bam Morris!

Thank Christ my ex-wife had a connection to Bernie Kosar's company who sold them, and I got them for cheap ($125 a piece).

They, of course, lasted all of one year. But the nice thing about authentics is that they can be "renamed" and now my #33's have been customized and say "SUITANIM" on the back.
