BENGALS FINALLY ON THE BOARD
We pointed out earlier on Friday that the Cincinnati are one of six team who have yet to sign a free agent who played elsewhere in 2006.
As it turns out, the Bengals have gotten on the board by inking former Cardinals center Alex Stepanovich (http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/CIN/10064337).
Stepanovich, a three-year player to whom the Cards opted not to extend a restricted free agent tender, started all 16 games at center for Arizona as a rookie in 2004.

I guess the Bengals have lost there mind and going after scraps. Everyone knows the cards line is pure garbage and every player to go with it. The whiz is cleaning house to make the line better at least. Its better for us knowing the Bengals do not want to improve.

Actually, Alex is a pretty decent center. Don't toss out the baby with the bath water...

didn't we pluck hartings off a pretty pathetic detroit roster?? and all he did after that is go to the pro bowl and get a sb ring.

Ya we plucked him off a team who went to the playoffs just as much as we did in the 90s. Detroit went to the playoffs 6 times in the 90s..

as great as sanders was he wasnt so great to run for all those yards behind wet paper bags.

anyways this move by arizona definitely clears the path for arizona to accept a draft day trade offer for c. okolbi if thats the direction were heading in. better than cutting him to save a little more cap space or to bury him on the bench like duce.

Nice to at least have some experienced depth at center.

Alex is a pretty good center IMO. But if you have guys around you who suck you are also deemed suckish.

Yeah, its especially hard with lineman because 95% of the time they are only talked about if they do bad, and if that's only on the account of one person, then that one person counts for the entire line.
