newmans on the pole and kurt bush was the fastest in practice. whats that mean? both penske cars will probably be a lap down half way through the race, and it will come down to a dragrace between jimmy johnson, and a pickem between about 4 other drivers.

j. johnson
k. kahne
c. edwards
j. gordon or kyle bush
j. burton

take a penske driver or k. harvick as a sleeper

I took
J Burton
Carl
Bobby Labonte
Jr.

hopefully Bobby doesn't blow his car up tomorrow like he did today.

well unfortunately the drag race came with 3 laps to go instead of the final lap. i must say, watching jimmie johnson sucks about as bad as watching the cowboys in the early 90's. oh well, him stealing hendricks efforts away, pretty much assures gordon will never win another champ. i guess thats good. :hunch: tough call who is the lesser of 2 evils.

typical tony stewart- "i just wish he wouldve gave us room to race him there". in other words "i wish he woulda just pulled over and let me win, like everybody should"

shut up stewart. :crying01:

I am so disappointed in Tony.....I was really hoping he'd crash both cars, but I'll take a 3rd

The Juan Pablo hype is going to skyrocket....he drove a good race though.

Oh yeah....was there any doubt a mystery caution would come out with the leaders running out of fuel late and Jeffy a lap down?

....but we needed it this time....so I'm not whining....

its no mystery. infact, i think its in nascars everchanging rule book.

so far this season is shaping up with no suprises, and the usual suspects are showing who will be the ones in the chase. i wonder if the COT will level the playing field, or prove to be just a nothet POS gimmick (safety measures notwithstanding)

Depends on who gets the jump on the COT's set-up - it could be a wild crapshoot.

Bristol, baby!

....let the demons out!

well im hoping for a wild crapshoot, where most teams seem to be on the same level equipment wise, yet the top drivers still rise to the top.

if martin were running a rull season that senario would be great for him, and bad for jimmie.

they say the cot gives j pablo and edge. it will be interesting to find out. how he does at these 2 short tracks will say alot.

I'm glad JJ beat that letch in the final laps. Watching Stewart smack the wall in those last laps after Jimmie passed him made my day.

The anti-Gordon conspiracy theories never cease to amuse and amaze me...

so you think johnson has just been the better driver over the past 3-4 years?

Nope, I think Robbie Loomis was too old school. Steve Letarte is cut from the same cloth as Chad Knaus, and they are actually sharing set-ups for the first time this year. It shows, too. I think there are 3 World Class drivers in NASCAR: Tony Stewart, Juan Montoya and Jeff Gordon, and then there's a talent gap.
