They're just postponing it for two years until they finish building facilities for the Olympics (specifically, a brand new state-of-the-art stadium) in Beijing which will be in the summer of 2008. From the first page of the article:

"Because the Summer Olympics are set for Beijing in 2008, the league will skip 2008 and look to put a game in Olympic Stadium, now under construction, in the summer of 2009."

My fisrt thought was Aprils Fool again but looks like this is legit.

Good news for Patriots and Seahawks fans - not so good for the money men.
