Despite committing a pair of errors and allowing a ninth-inning home run, the Pirates completed their sweep of the Astros with a 5-4 victory in Houston tonight.

Jose Bautista went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs.

Tom Gorzelanny, who struck out four and gave up seven hits, picked up the win. Salomon Torres, who allowed a ninth-inning home run to Craig Biggio, earned the save.

The Pirates are off Thursday night before beginning a three-game series in Cincinnati.

Well, color me surprised. Playing the Astros in Houston was an reoccuring nightmare for the Pirates. I never expected a sweep.

I'm pumped a tad bit. Now do these 2007 Bucs have what it takes to keep it going?

Hey when you get three quality starts from three of your young pitchers you're going to wins some games. Not only that but the Buccos bullpen only has allowed one run. If the pitching can keep the Pirates in it all year then this team could be a good ball club. The Pirates came from behind in each of the first three games. So that was great to see as well. Lets Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!
