With Easter coming up now in around 3 days all or some will be in Church somewhere on Sunday morning... what will you being doing or where will you be on sunday morning? By the time that you get out of bed for most of you...2007 years ago Jesus arose to finallize his defeat of satan.. I am so blessed in these times coming up knowing that some day I will be with Jesus in heaven , I will get to meet all the great men, and women of the Bible. I will get to walk thru streets of pure gold, but you know what is the greatest thing I will see or hear ? I will get to see my Jesus face to face.. and hear him say "Welcome Home my Son, well done"... For us Christians that will be a Glorious Day.. Amen?

I'm praying that I will be giving the message at our church. Pending the review of the leaders and if they feel this is what the Spirit is in alignment with.

I'm not a "Negative person", but I must ask, what purpose exactly is being served by this thread? Do you want to know where we will be Sunday morning?

If that's the case, then, for me, I'll be sleeping in and enjoying a day off, just like I do every other Sunday morning...

It's just a thread, just like the one that starts off with, "I will never..." (IMHO)

People fill in the blanks and that's it.

Enjoy your sleeping in and the R&R that comes with a day off. Too bad it's not football season, at least it would make weekends more enjoyable. Baseball just doesn't hold the thrill.

I usually get up first on Sunday morning and make pancakes for my family's breakfast. This Sunday we'll go to church afterward. (yeah, I'm an atheist but my wife isn't. Since it doesn't matter to me but it does to her, I go.) In the afternoon we will go over to the inlaws and dine, then we play family games; penny poker and stuff like that.

Damn. I believe in God, but despise Religion and refuse to go to Church because of it...hearing that an admitted atheist goes to Church makes me feel a tad bit guilty, since I have family and friends who suffer under the delusion that it actually matters...

I usually get up, go to church, and then to both of my grandparents house. (Thank God I still have them after so many years.) Then, I will proceed to eat my weight in ham, eggs, shrimp, strukel(german family tradition), and assorted fruits and vegtables.

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL:thumbsup:

its very popular around here to go to white sands (15 miles away) for picnic, bbq, and beach volleyball on easter. although, our wind season is now and many easters have been ruined with tons of people getting sandblasted.

you really wanna screw with the kids? hide unpainted eggs on the dunes :chuckle:

LOL, file it under "the hour of my life I'd conserve isn't worth the hassle". Besides, I like the people at church, so it's a chance to see them again. The ones I laugh about are when we go to Atlantic City for the weekend. We gamble all day Saturday, get up Sunday and go to church, then go back to the casinos!

Me and her, we're a real mismatch in a lot of ways, and exactly alike in so many others.

I know a few people who go to Church for their families sake, and I admire them. I think the church is a valuable place to teach very young children about morals and values, and it helps reinforce that message if the whole family goes despite how they might actually feel about it.

Kudos to you!

As for me and mine, it's just me and my dog, and I'm reasonably sure my dog is going straight to Hell, so why bother?

We send our daughter to Catholic school; best choice we ever made, IMO. I used to go to church every Sunday, but not any more. Now I only go a few times a year; Christmas, Easter, and when we're all on vacation together or when I have to trade going to church for a weekend in AC.

Hey, C&E is better than me, but I'm a strong believer in kids and church. If kids don't get the moral backbone from church, where will they get it? TV? Movies? The internet?

The internet?i think this is important too and commend mosca for not denying his daughter the chance to make up her own mind based on his own personal beliefs. while i am non denominational, my 3 year old goes to catholic and baptist churches on alternating weekends. the message is the same either way to a kid. her drawing pictures of Jesus with some hideous wings that look like that of a wasp, actually make me proud.

i have always struggled of how to handle easter with my child. we will dye eggs and i will hide them because that is the tradition. this is really the 1st year where she can understand things such as Jesus dying, and a giant bunny. i am definitely leaning away from the giant bunny stories i was raised with. to me an egg is a symbol of renewed life and i think that is the angle i will take as we search for "new life" easter morning, and i tell her why we are doing, what we are doing.

i have heard those who believe that celebrating easter is just ripping off the pagan holiday worshipping the goddess ester, but i believe this type of celebration is important to my child and getting her acclimated to the real meaning of what the day represents.

I will be in church. I have not found "The Right One" for me since the move here. But will attend a local one nonetheless. I have been rather negligent since the move, but am attempting to correct this.

Afterwards, not much. My Mother, Sister, and 2 nephews will be coming out from Texas the following weekend, so I will celebrate with them. With my nephews coming, I am looking forward to hiding eggs, as well as the obligatory wrestling match we always seem to get into.
