HARRINGTON GETTING $6 MILLION

A league source tells us that the contract that Joey Harrington has agreed to with the Falcons is worth $6 million over two years.

The total value is close, if not identical, to the package received last week by David Carr in Carolina.

Harrington has not yet signed the deal. We're told that he is flying to Atlanta for the commencement of a Tuesday minicamp, and that he'll sign the deal when he arrives.

Where do I sign up? I can suck at QB just as badly as Harrington, and I'll do it for half his price. 3 million over 2 years would tide me over quite nicely. I can do a good job carrying a clipboard while "Kordell Deluxe" takes all the snaps too. :chuckle:

Joey Harrington has been cursed to be the quaterback from some truely awful offenses. The offense he had in Detroit was one of the worst in recent memory and the offense in Miami was nothing special either. His time as a starter has passed, but he'll be a cery capable backup in Atlanta.

Meh, I heard the same arguments made about Jake Plummer when he went from AZ to the Broncos, and he was still a mediocre QB after 3 years with the Broncos, despite Shanahan's tutelage. Harrington might make a decent backup though.

I've always liked Joey's attitude and how he kept his head up when everyone boo'd him in Detroit. I feel kinda bad for him since he's always on a horrible team. Oh well, good luck as a backup.

Unlike Schaub, Harrington has actual won some games. So there is a positive already at being a backup behind Vick. Harrington will get a chance to play when vick gets hurt again.
