Ok so I've seen this totally testosterone driven movie twice already and can't wait for it to come out on DVD.

For the guys if you have a moment to see this movie, take it! The movie from start to finish is Blood and Guts. (Sorry ladies, I just don't see this as a movie that I'd take my wife to see - but if you love that type go for it too)!

IMHO, it takes over where Gladiator failed to produce!

Beleive it or not, my friends(both male and female) and I really want to see this move, lol.

P.S. It's funny, when my guy friends want to go see a "guy" movie us girls all go w/o whining. And yet when my girl friends want to see "girl" movies, then my guy friends attempt to find every possible excuse for getting out of it, and all have failed, mwhaha...

Aww man, This was one of the best movies I have ever seen! The battle scenes get you pumped!:jammin:

But yes, lots of blood and guts, and tere is a sex scene, so if you dont like any of those, I wouldn't recommend it.

Though it was'nt entirely historically accurate,..(The greeks were nearly 10,000 strong at the battle's outset and the 'last stand' was made by the Spartans along with nearly a thousand thespians) And no the Persians were not inhuman Monsters. (Persia actually aided Athens later against Sparta) 'Politics'

I viewed it as a glorified retelling of Thermopylae,.....as you would envision it in your mind hearing it by a campfire in the distant past.

To me it made me think,...."Damn the world would sure be a better place if there was no room for weak 'little men' with no code and ability,....but big mouths"!

Bottom line,....it was an adrenaline rush movie for us. (As Titanic was the pull at the "heartstrings" movie for the Ladies) LOL

Are you kidding...........This is probably my favorite movie in a long time, besides The Departed. I loved the whole graphic novel appeal to it......Of course I am a history nut too...What is not too love about this movie..........I don't think most women are that squeamish.........Are they?

i loved this movie, and remember this wasn't really trying to follow historical facts, it was based off frank millers graphic comic books.........so ppl that haven't seen it, don't expect everything to be totally true

i already have it on dvd, it's great quality too, i love bootlegs lol

Yeah, the mive was based on a book that never really claimed to be accurate, or something like that...

Oh I know that 43. I only mentioned historical accuracy because history (military in particular) happens to be a "hobby" of mine. (so to speak)

And trust me,....i know the 'liberties' that Hollywood takes for the sake entertainment. LOL And I enjoyed it a great deal as such.

Awesome flick! I went with one of my Bro's right after a 160mph drive in my Z06! It was the perfect time to go, 1pm. My wife encouraged me to go, while she headed off to a spa treatment.

I loved the messages throughout the movie. From the beginning it was Desire, Determination, Discipline, and Loyalty! And never ever showing weakness, for that is not an appealing characteristic befitting a man! It also moved to teamwork and thinking as one, as pertains to Discipline.

This movie ranks up there with my other favorites, Spartacus & Gladiator!

No matter what the odds, no matter who thinks you cannot, continue to BE that of your dreams! (STEELERS SB run)

Afterward, I headed for food, then straight to the gym to get crazy liftin' some heavy iron! I am forever the optimist, looking for more reason to BE!

My buddy sent me this...

'300 may very well be the most badass, testosterone-fuelled blood-fest of all time. Not only is it basically a 2 hour fight scene, it gives society, in my opinion, the newest catch phrase. No matter what the situation, it is appropriate to answer with a resounding "NO, THIS IS SPARTA!"

At Work:

Customer: "May I try these shoes in a nine?"
You: "NO, THIS IS SPARTA!"
Customer: "Hmm, i suppose I don't need shoes, sorry for bothering you sir."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On a Midterm:

Question: Discuss the relevant factors that led to the fall of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
Answer: "NO, THIS IS SPARTA!"

Automatic A+
---------------------------------------------------------------------
After a date:

Girl: " I'm tired, we should call it a night."
You: "NO, THIS IS SPARTA!"
Girl: "Well, when you put it that way, let's have sex."
---------------------------------------------------------------------
When being pulled over for drunk driving:

Officer: "Have you been drinking tonight?"
You: "NO, THIS IS SPARTA!"
Officer: "I see. Well off you go, oh and here's my gun, please take it."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As you can see, there is no situation where "NO, THIS IS SPARTA!" does not apply, not to mention produce a favorable response for its users. So now that you are armed with the most potent of catchphrases, go out and use it accordingly.'
