Al Wilson's Broncos career is over. The Broncos will release the former defensive captain today, according to a source close to the situation.
A news conference is scheduled at 2 p.m. to discuss Wilson's future at the Denver office of Wilson's agent, Peter Schaffer.
There is a strong chance Wilson, 29, may not play in 2007 and that he could decide to end his career.
The five-time Pro Bowl selection suffered a neck injury Dec. 3 against Seattle. He was taken off the field on a stretcher and spent a short time at a local hospital before being released. Wilson then came back to finish the season.

I know they picked up Bly to replace Darrent. Rest his soul to some unfortunate deal. Now Al with the injury that might just be the end of his career. Denver is having some bad luck with there defense.

when trade talks with the giants broke down, i had just assumed that the giants werent offering enough compensation. it now seems wilson wasnt able to pass a physical and the broncos were just trying to pawn him off on somebody.

Doubt he goes anywhere soon. He might be forced into retirement. Shame he is a good player.
