Stoopid question person here -

What is the big deal about Brady Quinn being the "last at the table" or whatever? What does that mean? Obviously, he expected to be picked before now, I guess, but he should be picked eventually, right? It's only the first round, and not very far into that. Aren't there piles and piles of players of different positions waiting to be picked? I'm kind of at a loss here - this is the first draft I've ever paid attention to. Any help/details/info would be appreciated. Apparently we have some time to go before we get to pick anyway, so it's a way to pass the time, I suppose.

Two things: where you get picked can make a difference in the ssize of your signing bonus. and when ESPN is showing your face to millions of people every time you don't get picked it becomes a story. but you are correct, two years from now it will not matter where quinn was poicked.

I thought once you got drafted, you got drafted. You went to that team, even if you would rather go elsewhere, and you took what they gave you, since you were new and unproven and all. Evidently I was mistaken. Could someone explain quickly, please?

I really am sorry to be a bother and so ignorant. Thank you for your patience with someone who is trying to learn.

Hey... asking problems is no problem!!

when you get drafted... you then negotiate. Players will stay out of camp if they arent being offered what they want. If they don't get contracted... they can be released or go into next years draft.

Hm. That seems rather presumptuous to me - I would think they'd be grateful to be picked by anybody at all, at least at first, and not go around demanding things. Not many people have the chance to play football professionally, after all. Maybe that's just the girl in me thinking, however.

We're up soon!

Thank you to everyone for putting up with me. Everybody is so nice here. :-)

http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/olb/lawrencetimmons.html

strengths:
Outstanding natural athlete...Great speed and quickness...Explosive with a burst to close...Has the frame to get add weight and he plays big...An outstanding pass rusher...Has fluid hips and is excellent in coverage...Versatile and could play in a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme...Vicious hitter and tackler...Has sideline-to-sideline range...Is physical and aggressive...A playmaker who is always around the ball...Still has a ton of potential and there is really no telling just how good he may ultimately be.

Weaknesses:
Has only one year of starting experience...Raw and needs work from a technique standpoint...Has some trouble shedding blocks and he doesn't use his hands all that well...May lack ideal instincts and awareness due to inexperience...Needs to continue bulking up and getting stronger...Will get by on his athleticism at times.

Notes:
Was overshadowed by the likes of Ernie Sims, Buster Davis and A.J. Nicholson for most of his college career...Finally got a chance to start in '06 and made the most of the opportunity...Rare physical specimen who just might eventually be a better player than Sims, a former #9 overall pick...Upside is the key word because he is not a finished product but if he lives up to that promise this guy could be special.
