Who do you think the Steelers will pick up today in the draft. I am going with LB Paul Posluszny of Penn St.

I would love to have Revis. I'm not 100% sure that CB is the Steelers' greatest need, but I'm not convinced that the other positions of greater need will have a high-pick worthy prospect available when we pick.

..and that is the whole concept so many people dont realize in making draft piscks...Need/Value....GOOD POST!!!

I agree with everyone else, I like that Revis from Pitt. Good size and could be a kick returner for us.

I think the Steelers will take Lawrence Timmons though.

What's great about the Steelers team is that we have a good enough team that we can take the best player at a position of some need. There are postitions that are more needed than others, but overall, were in good shape.

Im hoping for a CB, OLB, or offensive lineman

If he is available when their turn comes I hope they pick him, he could help the return game plus he is already used to playing at Heinz Field.

Problem is, I don't like his size. When we go up against a team like Jacksonville he'll have to cover receivers a few more inches taller then him.

I'd say wait till Round 3 or 4 maybe to go CB.

Lawrence Timmons,OLB,Florida State

If we are indeed sticking with a 3-4,Poz isn't suited to play OLB in the 3-4.

Jack Ham came from Linebacker U. He was decent.

I have a good feeling 4-3 will come in. Mixed with a 3-4.

I definitely agree with you there, wedo. Ham is not only a HOF'r, but was selected to both the NFL's 75th Anniversary All Time Team and the 1970's All Decade Team. I think all of those honors qualify him for one of the best outside linebackers to ever play the game. :tt02:

I'm going to move this thread to the Draft Forum, since the draft is now in progress.

Is there any body else out there scratching there head with the Matt Spaeth pick, I Likre both the Timmons and Woodley picks i think they both will fit with what the steelers are going to do in the coming years with running a hybrid defense this year and probably next till they draft or sign the personel to complete the transition to the tampa two . But the Spaeth pick makes no sense especially with Micheal Bush sitting there.

I gotta reserve judgement on the Spaeth pick. If they think he's coachable, then why not use him solely as a receiver? I for one was sick of seeing our DB's get burned by much taller receivers in the Endzone. I just can't say for sure what to think.
