Kelly Gregg, Mike Anderson, Trevor Pryce, Ray Lewis, Jonathan Ogden, Samari Rolle, Chris McCalister, Terrell Suggs, Ed Reed and Mike Flynn are all skipping voluntary practices this year.

"I am comfortable with the guys who we have here," Billick said. "Those who aren't, I am very comfortable knowing what they'll be able to do once they get here."

I don't know what to say really. I know it's just mini-camp, but you would think that after only two playoff seasons since 2001 and going one-and-out at home both times they would adopt an attitude to try to get better and over the hump. On top of that, Mcgahee predicted they would be playing in the Super Bowl on Total Access.

But hey, they won the North last year, so I guess they do have a reason to be confident.

since re-alaignment and the division was created no team has repeated as champions of the afc north.

pretty much every other year the steelers win the division and every other year the ravens break down due to injuries. good job ravens!

Same trap we fell into last year - let them kick back while we just get better and better.

I think it's a matter of natural progression. What i mean is they may believe that they have the neccessary talent at the very least to win our division.

Along with the fact that they may view us (being the the 'benchmark' of the division) as having taken more steps 'backwards' than forwards in regards to improving from a personel standpoint,... or at the very least remained stagnate.

However,.....i look forward to us proving our worth as an organization not only to the them (Rats),....but to the rest of the league as a whole.

E-man.

After last year, this is one of the things I am most interested in, the Steeler / Ratbird games! May definitely determine the division!

Of course Stabbit Ray isn't there - he's honing his knife-wielding technique. :duel:

Quite frankly, I think the Rats are somewhat overrated as a whole, and it would take up all of Mike's bandwidth for me to list all of the reasons why I feel that way. As for McGahee's comment, he should be more concerned about getting his doopa ready for the season instead of trying to butter up his new teammates and Bil-dick by playing soothsayer.

Playing the Ratbirds is always fun.

But in general, this year the Rats are due for a rude awakening. They got trash-talky before their playoff game vs the Colts, and you know what happened. That's been the staple of Brian Billick's team post-2000. They fall for their own hype, get overconfident, and underachieve.

So i take it that you HTG (much like myself),.... believe that Willis gazing into Billick's 'Crystal Ballz' have caused him to hallucinate ??? :toofunny::toofunny::toofunny:

Well, Billick has always been an arrogant ass - he molded that team in his own image.

Don't know about that Czar, but it probably caused him to have to breathe through his mouth. :sofunny:

Haven't heard much about Lewis. Seems he was stewing last year about his contract. Does anyone know his status? I was hoping they would break the bank to keep him around. (Can you say dead $) He has been a shadow of himself the past two years.

I hate the Ravens even more than the patsies, and thats hard to do.

It's impossible for me to tell if they are overconfident at this point (It's May), but after the way they obliterated us last season I wouldn't bet on it. That team scares me.

wow McGahee could scare the hair off of a bald goat. His .2 avg more per yard over lewis is just scary, so they might get 82 yards a game instead of 80.

Ya were really scared of a washed up team. As long as are O line is fixed and everything is clicking we will sweep the Ravens.

Yeah, let's hope so..lol. Hopefully it doesn't end up like last seasons two meetings.

The Ravens have an awesome D - in fact it may well be a little too awesome in terms of salary cap distribution.

They have so much talent, and its talent that costs big bucks to maintain - they would be wise to invest some of that money in a playmaking WR and more importantly a good quality younger QB.

The Ravens strike me as one dimensional, if you can get ahead early then I don't see theirs as an offense that is capable of playing catch up - what they are great at is getting ahead then stomping you into the ground.

As long as the Bengals don't pick 2007 as the year to totally self destruct I can see this being a hugely competitive division - whoever limps out of it will struggle to get a top 2 seeding.

I am really not worried about them.

Old Man McNair will get pounded into the ground leaving Kyle "I Should Have Been A" BoLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLer the starting QB.So then we know all they will do is run the ball, and McGahee doesn't scare me one bit.

Ray "The Knife" Lewis will end up injured,Rolle is quickly becoming a shell of his former self,Mason hasn't done jack since joining the team.

The Ravens are very beatable as the Colts proved in the playoffs.

It won't. The Steelers weren't THAT Bad last year. The Bengals were able to handle them so easily.

It goes to show how complacent the Steelers were that year. They thought the Ravens would just lay down for them and figured they didn't need an effort to beat them. They played half-hearted and the Rats made 'em pay for it.

Hey Tony...

Actually, I think one of the biggest things is that we were SO PREDICTABLE...

However... If a team cut me and then we played that team, and my team had a chance of going to the SB... I would tell them everything I knew as well. That is part of the problem with cutting players.

What do the Ravens have to be over confident about? They are an alright team and a pretty darn good defense as usuall. But they couldnt beat the Colts in last years playoffs because of their lack of offense. Now, McGahee may give them alot of help in their running game, but eventually in our AFC North division , your gonna have to be able to pass the ball a little anyway and McNair doesnt impress me anymore passing the ball.
