THE ANSWER IS EASY....AND OF COURSE THIS APPLIES TO ANY TEAM WHO FOLLOWS THIS: EVERY NFL PLAYER SHOULD READ THIS...TOO DAMN BAD MONEY HAS TAKEN US SO FAR AWAY FROM THE GREAT FOOTBALL TIMES....UNTIL WE REALIZE THIS WE ARE NOTHING..AND NO TEAM WILL EVER BE AS GREAT AS THE 79 STEELERS OR ANY OTHER GREAT FOOTBALL TEAM. THIS IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS AND ITS SIMPLE!

MIKE WEBSTER STATED IT BEST:

"I'm not a very good athlete," he offered. "I don't run very well, and I'm not very agile or nimble. The only chance I have to be successful is if I'm in better condition than the other guy."

THIS GUY WAS 6'2 225 POUNDS AND PROBABLY THE BEST NFL CENTER TO EVER PLAY THE GAME. WHY??

ITS ALL MENTAL....LETS GET OUR STEELERS PUMPED UP TO WIN ANOTHER SUPER BOWL!!

Throughout his career, Webster maintained a work ethic -- report early, leave late and play hurt

Mike must be channeling our Steelers.........they are all (except for one) hitting the gym early and getting a good start on the pre season conditioning. A new coach, a new attitude, a humbling past season...........if they can eliminate the turnovers that plagued us last year, I suspect the new Steelers will be frightenly good!!

The steelers seem to be back on track after an awful season, changes on offense and defense are already obvious. Maybe this will be a superbowl year again for us.

Yes... but a new type.

The ball HAS to go in the air more. However, I think we may have the receivers that can be trained to run to darkness. Ward LOVES to hit. Holmes seems to be following Ward... did any of you see the blocks he was throwing at the end of last year?

Our 3-4-5 receivers.. heck, that is easy. "Son, you wanna play football for us... HIT HIM!"

Willie can AND WILL run up the middle. However, he is so fast that if he gets a lane... he is gone. Thus, smash mouth running is only part of the game on the run. However, I hope that Barlow works out so that we can see the Thunder and Lightening in our run game!

Yeah we'll still be physical. The Peter King article about Coach Tomlin and the art prints he has in his office prove that. But it will be tweaked a bit. I am very optimistic about our future and I can't wait for the season to start!

Agreed - I'd like to see a 50/50 run-to-pass ratio.

Motivation, concentration, dedication and not settling for anything less than being the best. :tt02:

P.S. And hold on to the damned ball, please.

We win another Super Bowl quite simply

1 - We play Steelers defense, old school
2 - Our offense makes time consuming drives and scores TDs, not FGs
3 - Our Special Teams is exceptionally perfect (is that possible) and our new punter ends up on "Jacked Up" every game
4 - Once we're in the playoffs, we leave no doubt that we are THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS and make the game as lopsided as possible, crushing any hope the other team may have by the end of the first quarter
