Dan Barden, the head of PITG Gaming LLC, is just winning all kinds of support in the community with his vice hall. Consider the following gems from an article in today's PG:

"We stepped forward with very meaningful mitigating measures. For her to reject them out of hand is outrageous," he said. "She wants me to agree to everything and we're not agreeing to everything. We're not going to put a tunnel under the street. The zoning doesn't require that."

Keep in mind he's talking about the Science Center which is 100 times more important to the city and the region than his little gambling hall.

"They probably don't want anything to go there so they can develop the land between the two stadiums. So I think they are selfishly motivated. They want to control development there and all the money that goes with it. It's all about the money," he said.

Says the man who's going to open a casino.

This guy is proving to be a real piece of work.

Was keeping the Pens here worth getting in bed with the devil?? Probably not.

In the long run this will cost the city considerably more than the price tag of the new arena. You might as well start building more jails right now.

The irony being that they could have kept the Pens with no money from the gambling den.
