Aren't you glad that the Steelers are in none of this crap? I know its only May and we all saw what happened last year with Ben but I am happy that we don't have players that aren't in trouble. The whole Michael Vick deal, the Chiefs/Trent Green ordeal, and McNabb who is always getting talked about. The only thing that has happened is Faneca complaining but that happens everywhere.

So woo hoo for the Steelers organization so far :tt02:

I agree. The Steelers have a class organization and although the biggest incident we had last year was Ben's accident we as fans can be thankful that we aren't Bungles fans or the Bungles organization who have more than their fair share of headaches IMO.:coffee:

when the steelers do have distractions, like ben's accident or faneca, it ends up being a iknonstory because of the way it's handled. it has never "festered and grown" in pittsburgh the way things do in philly or carolina.

sorry, iknonstory = "non-story"

Agreed - I for one LOVE being under the radar. Unless you count Larry Zierlein's "E-Mailgate," which was actually funny and embarrassing, as opposed to felonious.

It's so quiet. No off field stuff for the Steelers. Man, it feels good.

you forgot "porngate". not a huge scandal but, i'm not sure we haven't heard the last of this. I wouldn't be surprised to see larry flint, I mean zierleine, get a slap in the back of the head for sending the comish (and his staff) willy wanker material.

Its a funny story and without wanting to sound too chauvanist; its a male dominated sport - these guys will be laughing at the guys misfortune/lack of basic PC skills rather than seriously bashing him for it.

We've all had a good laugh, now im sure it'll just fade into memory - the NFL has way bigger fish to fry.

With a leauge office full of lawyers I'm sure they're not going to just sweep this under the rug. You're right the NFL is a man's world (a la JB). It does, however, operate in the modern era of law suits for this very type of thing. IMO on the human level it's silly, but for a buisness it's embarrassing (esp for an org --Steelers-- that prides itself on keeping its collective nose clean).

Sure, embarrassing...but worthy of a law suit?

I sincerely hope not.

If someone had written an email with all types of personal slander I could see a case, but the forwarding of a nudie video?

Well, lets hope not eh?

I agree,there won't be a lawsuit over that.

It's being viewed as a mistake. He meant to send it to only a few select people, and due to being e-mail incompetant, emailed it to everyone he could send it to.

There is nothing to sue over, there is no valid case.

I didn't mean to imply that there will be a law suit over this ONE event, but if the NFL (and Steelers) just let this one slide, then they are opeining the door to somone coming along in the future claiming that an environment has been established that tolerates this stuff. With all the focus around conduct in this league I would not be surpised if the made an example (to some degree) of Mr. Zierlein.

Just my 3 cents.

The worst he'll get is a small fine. You can't really punish a guy for being email-illiterate.if the guy knew what he was doing,he would have never mass-mailed that file.

Yes.. I am glad that the Steelers players are level headed and I just hope that the organization does the right thing about this guy and the email.

Was a player involved. Not that I'm aware of.

speaking of off-field distractions, how quickly we have all forgotten about the 'love boat scandel' how do you think that would have played out under the new no tolerence policy?

The Steelers did have some offseason distractions this year, but look how quickly they disappeared. Just awesome.
