Summary: After 75 years, the Pittsburgh Steelers are finally going to have a real live human mascot. You wonder how the team survived so long without one, but who are we to question the Rooney's?

Oh really? I didn't know there was a deadline. Shows how much I care. I'm just tired of hearing/reading about the thing.

At least for the acceptance of the name.

I can't blame you either for being tired of it. Let's just get a good name that represents the team for the mascot.

also the Steelers are accepting applications for the job.

Can you imagine jumping around in that thing for four quarters of football? I bet it's going to be beautiful in there during our August-September games. Hot, sweaty and stinky.

One of my former teachers is the mascot at the Curve. He seems to like the job. Even if it's a hot day.

I've heard stories about the Pirate Parrot's little get up and I hear it's very unpleasant. I'd definately pass on that job 'opportunity'.

litp, never, ever.... ever, ever, ever, make fun of homer as the mascot for the "isotopes"!

since NM is the home of the atom bomb, albuquerque named its minor league baseball team the "isotopes" after "the simpsons" fictional team. true story

(and yes, i drink the groundwater 45 miles away from where the 1st atomic bomb was dropped...)

How much would anyone get paid to be the mascot?

You haven't heard? "The Rooney's are cheap", so I'm guessing they would pay you a Coors light per quarter and one hot dog per half. :wink02:
