I just rewatched "America's Game - 1979 Steelers" last night? If you haven't seen that, definitely check it out. It's my new favorite of the five Steelers episodes. It really gets into the team's blue collar roots and the relationship with the city. There is some really good stuff about the relationship between the Pirates and the Steelers since they were both sharing Three Rivers and winning championships at the time.

The Steelers that help narrate are Banaszak, Stallworth (my fav Steeler as a kid), and LC.

Oh yeah, the part about the origin of LC's shoes was pretty cool too.

Anyway, I'm sure this has been discussed before but with the threads about Anthony Smith, blue collar roots, and Coach Tomlin, this episode struck a nerve with me when I rewatched it. Sorry if this is a duplicate post.

It never was the same to me after Ernie Holmes and Andy Russell were no longer on the team. The defense to me didn't have the same personality. And I also believe in the later years Dwight White wasn't even starting.
