Why not say hello - every time I log on I get an admonishment - like being in school- that I never posted.

How long is a "long" time fan? You be the judge. Followed Steelers way too long - before it was fashionable. You've all heard about Bobby Layne's exploits for the Black and Gold. I remember when Ted Marchibroda, Earl Morrall, Len Dawson and Jack Kemp played QB for the Steelers and Marion Motley and Big "Daddy" Lipscomb also did their time. Saw Dick Hoak carry the ball long before he carried a clipboard. Been to Steelers games at Pitt and Forbes - last game I attended was at 3 Rivers for '75 AF Championship against Raiders - coldest I have ever been in my life the two pints of antifreeze nothwithstanding. Most memorable moments were watching players popping off the pile after a John Henry Johnson run in late fifties - the last man could count on a Mike Tyson-like chomp out of any body part in reach if he didn't move fast enough - I think face masks were really brought in to protect others from Johnson's appetite. Lived thoughout Far East and Europe and for last - too many years in Seattle area. Regular attendee at a Steelers bar on game day along with a lot of other displaced yinzers. Raised in Western Pa and last home in the area was Sewickley. Back in the day the best action was not the Steelers but, Pitt - saw Ditka play for and Jim Brown play against. Watched Army Heisman winner Pete Dawkins along with their "lonely end" formation. In those days Pitt was a power with arguably the toughest schedule in the nation. Last game I attended was a night game (I think for TV) when Dorsett led Panthers beat Penn State and Tony D won his Heisman. Also listened live on the radio when Maz hit his most famous "Home Run" .
