Former Steelers running back prospect Mike Jemison, who finished his college career among the all-time leading rushers at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, was arrested in Central Pennsylvania after a home invasion in Dauphin County.
Jemison, 24, of Philadelphia, was arrested with two other men Wednesday night after a robbery at an apartment in Susquehanna Township, the Patriot-News of Harrisburg reported Friday.
Police accused the three men of forcing their way into an apartment and hitting a man twice on the head with a pistol while holding the victim's girlfriend on the ground.
Jemison; Jai-Michael Hudson, 23, of Penbrook, Dauphin County; and Lashawn Sanders, 20, no address given, are charged with robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, conspiracy, theft, reckless endangerment and unlawful restraint, police said.
They were being held in Dauphin County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail each.
Township police Chief Rob Martin told the Patriot-News that the man and woman in the apartment were not injured.
Jemison rushed for 1,767 career yards in 13 games during an injury-prone, two-year career at IUP. He signed a contract with the Steelers in February 2006 and played for the NFL Europe's Hamburg Sea Devils in Germany before being released at the end of the season.
He tried unsuccessfully to earn a roster spot with the New York Giants in 2005 and '06.
Jemison transferred to IUP from Pitt after playing two seasons at Pitt, mainly as a special teams players out of Greencastle-Antrim High School in Franklin County. His senior year at IUP was cut short by a broken leg.
