My oh my. Looks like no one is safe from the Commish.

Two more suspended players.

Backup safety out two games
Sam Brandon will appeal after the NFL suspends him for violation of the league's conduct policy.
By Bill Williamson Denver Post Staff Writer

Broncos backup safety Sam Brandon has been suspended by the NFL for the first two games of the 2007 season for violating the league's conduct policy.

The suspension is expected to be served the first two games of this season, at Buffalo on Sept. 9 and at home against Oakland on Sept. 16.

The suspension stems from a domestic violence arrest. Brandon's attorney Harvey Steinberg said he is appealing the suspension. The Broncos and Brandon were unavailable for comment.

Brandon was arrested in June 2004 and July 2005 on domestic violence charges in Douglas County. Misdemeanor charges stemming from the earlier incident were dismissed.

Brandon has been a key reserve for the Broncos since being drafted in the fourth round in 2002. He is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered at Pittsburgh in November.

With Brandon out, backup safeties Curome Cox and Hamza Abdullah could have increased roles. Both players played more when Brandon was sidelined last season. Brandon's suspension could rekindle trade talks between the Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs regarding safety Greg Wesley.

Rams CB Brown suspended four games
ST. LOUIS (AP) ? Rams cornerback Fakhir Brown was suspended without pay for the first four games next season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, the league said Friday.

The statement announcing Brown's suspension did not specify the nature of the violation. Brown's agent, Ted Marchibroda, did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

Brown's suspension begins Aug. 31. He can return to the Rams' active roster on Oct. 1, following the team's Sept. 30 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

He also can participate in preseason games and practice.

Brown, 29, started in 14 games for the Rams last season. He tied for the team high with three interceptions and also had one sack. He missed two games with an ankle injury

Not big names by any means, but you have to like the enforcement under Goodell. He made a stance and is sticking to it. Guys are going to keep going down until they shape up.

I still think it'll be interesting to see what Goodell does when a big name that draws significant revenue to the league gets in trouble. The possible pending federal indictment of Vick, for example....

denver has done a great deal of clouding the broncos problems with character issues. the broncos are pretty much just as bad as the bengals, they just so happen to have a coach who is 10X better.

marvin is being "profiled". :coffee:

seriously though, as soon as goodell cracks down in 07 the broncos draft 2 guys with character issues, have 2 suspended, and another 1 busted.

lawrence phillips will be their next 1000 yd back.... oh wait, they already got another questionable character to fill that roll.

The consensus in ATL is that Vick is going to skate away from an indictment but that a big chunk of the fan base will turn on him unless the Falcons have a big year.

If Vick and the Falcons have a great year all will be forgiven since most fans would cheer for Charles Manson or Saddam Hussein if they went 14-2.

PFT posted audio from Brown's meeting with Goodell. I gotta say. Roger gets RIGHT to the point.
