Depending on which direction you're coming from....

If I'm driving, I stay in Monroeville or if I'm flying in and staying overnight, I stay out near the airport. There's a huge mall area - Robinson Towne Center and there are alot of hotels nearby. I prefer the Springhill Suites or the Residence Inn

Thanks for the info - We were going to stay at the Red Roof Inn in Monroesville (we're travelling from Allentown, PA - other side of the state). Thankfully, a friend is letting us stay in the city though. I'm stoked!
