I think it is almost impossible to go 16 and 0 in todays NFL....

We may have as good of a shot as any since we were only one game away last year.

:iagree:

I would venture a guess that NO team will ever go undefeated again in a full 16 game schedule. There is just too much parity and too much can happen on any given sunday.

i doubt we could go undefeated, we'll be like 13-3 and or 14-2. but it's not the wins you get in the regular season it's the wins you get in the playoffs so i don't care if we lose 3 or 4 games because if we don't win it all, the season didn't matter.

We've proven 15-1 gets you jack shiat when it comes to playoff time if you dont keep it going...so here's to keeping it going all the way to Detroit baby !!

the reason i spoke of it is because the washington post compared the steelers to the 70-whatever dolphins . of course id like to see it, but that pesky AFC champ game is the hurdle, not a perfect season.

I really think we need to take it one game at a time. Don't get me wrong...as long as it came with a SB win...I would be the happiest person in the world! But first let's work on 3-0 and see what happens down the road!

Im not so sure about the odds of the Steelers going undefeated...if I was going to bet on one team to do it - it would be the Colts this year - by my reckoning there are only 3 games that they should be possible underdogs for

Week9 @New England (after a bye week)
Week11 @ Cincinnati
Week12 v Pittsburgh

I would say you have one extra quality opponent to face, mainly because you're division rivals with the Bengals and have to play them twice.

Cheers

I don't see why not. It has been on the back of my mind the last week or so. I just didn't want to set our boys up for a jinx by bringing it up

I dont even want to go undefeated. I also dont want to lose. Imagine the pressure Ben, and Cowher, and the entire team would be under to win the superbowl. Ben is still a 24 year old kid, he will have enough pressure just getting us to the bowl , without going undefeated.

One game at a time.

We should have no problem going undefeated like Avoid said , dont want to jinx them, but we play the Colts Nov. 28 we beat them we are golden!

This post scares the heck out of me because whenever "undefeated talk" begins, it is usually followed by a loss. That pretty much goes for every team in every sport. Just be careful :hope:

As long as we make it into the playoffs, at this point thats the main deal. We've been there before as the favorites being at home..but at this point if we gotta go on the road, it's certainly not the end of the world. So undefeated or not, lets bring home that Lombardi trophy!

not to be negative here guys, but its only been two weeks. more than likely we will stumble at some point. only one team ever has gone undefeated, and they only played a 14 game schedule.

that's not being negative that's thinking logically, of course we'll have a couple of games were we don't play our best. but like big ben said on PTI earlier this week, just cause they don't go 15-1 don't mean they didn't get better as a team.

Don't hate on us, you beat the Bears, not the Patriots. I looked at your schedule, and if you're not 6-0 when you meet us then something is wrong. You have a good team, and I'm glad to see you win today. On the other hand you must remember how the Steelers handles the undefeated teams. Your's will be coming, don't worry.

Absolutely right, but we were playing pass most of the game for some reason......Maybe if we get another 5 picks next week are we going to still need help, I understand we need run help but our pass defense is awesome.

You should feel shaken by the Bengals, they are not the same ole Bengals they are new and improved, They are a Marvin team.....We will not just hand a team a win anymore including the Steelers whoever wins it will be a dog fight.......You are right about Chad and Carson it is about time a Steeler fan gives Palmer props, but does Housh get no love?
